Midwest Basement Systems was recently awarded a project to install 66 new construction helical piles for a school renovation project in Leon, IA. The piles will be installed to support the new foundations as well as a structural slab. Helical piers were the perfect solution for this project because of limited access adjacent and within the existing building. The project also requires that a load test be conducted to verify the pile capacity and performance (settlement) under load. Tim Heady, owner of Midwest Basement Systems, recently hired a new employee, Mark Rasmusson, to manage his commercial foundation division. Mark’s engineering background and construction experience will be a great asset to Midwest Basement Systems on these types of projects.
