The only things I found myself not liking about this project were not AFS responsibility. Not having any idea how long the permit would take makes any kind of scheduling difficult, both for you and your customers, but that should improve with time. And, of course I'm not particularly happy about using up essentially my entire remodel budget just to get to the starting point. I'll have to put off some of what I wanted to do, but overall I'm happy with where I'm at -- Thanks

    1) Unless I have missed it, we are still waiting for a formal warranty for the work done? As I understood it, the warranty is transferable should we sell our house. This is important since the original contract included slabjacking which was found not be be necessary; however, more extensive drilling was necessary to reach solid ground (up to 32' in one section, if I recall correctly). The net cost was a "wash" but I would like to document the details of work done.2) In the contract there was a note about providing a video copy of the work done. I spoke with Jack McGuire about obtaining that but have not seen anything yet. A DVD might be the most practical method of sending it to us.3) It appears that in collecting their tools, one of the workman may have inadvertently picked up a tape measure I left at the house. It is a 25" Stanley chrome tape measure which I left in the otherwise vacant house. Jack said he would check with Vic (?) the crew leader to see if it could be located. Or if not, replace it.thank you.

Project Location: Buckshot Rd, Prescott Valley, AZ 86315

Comment: We are currently under contract to buy a home in Prescott Valley (clay soil) that is a 1581 sq foot ranch style home on slab. A disclosure came with the home along with a structural engineer report of slab foundation cracking/settling to the south wall of the great room with a secondary crack a few feet back from the south wall. Slab cracking adjacent to the exterior walls, similar to what was observed at the south wall of the great room, was observed throughout the home. The structural engineer believes that the slab settled and the footings did not, which created the cracking. A general contractor had only leveled out the slab to the south side which included the entryway, livingroom, den, and bedroom. Some of the doors in the home are obviously misaligned a bit due to the slab movement. What would be the best technique as well as a ballpark estimate if we are to have something done that would permanently stabilize the slab. Being that the soil is clay based and moves it is our understanding that the leveling of the slab is only a temporary fix at this time. We have 3 more days of our "inspection" period before we need to make a decision to move forward with this home or walk away due to the slab issues. Thank you
