Dry wall cracks are a symptom of a foundation problem. This home had a number of them.

Cracks on a wall are clear signs of foundation problems beneath the house. The problem with foundation problems either, foundation heaves, foundation settlement, or even both is that the side effects will not be going to stop any time soon but just get worse; that is why taking action on time is important because the more you might wait, the more expensive it becomes.
