During the inspection of the home's crawl space, the LRE Design Specialist discovered that the floor joists had significantly dropped due to a lack of stable support from below.
Without proper moisture regulation, the crawl space beneath this home suffered from water damage caused by rainstorms, which could lead to structural issues and mold growth.
Upon inspecting the crawl space, the LRE Design Specialist observed that many of the block piers supporting the wooden support joists above had settled into the soil below.
Upon inspection, the Design Specialist immediately observed that the wooden floor joists in the crawl space were sagging under the weight of the appliances and furniture in the home.
The homeowner became concerned that his home may have had foundation issues upon noticing cracks in his ceiling.
Soil settlement has caused these block piers to sink into the ground, creating a lack of adequate support for the floor joists above.
The block piers originally installed in the crawl space to support the wood joists above had deteriorated and settled into the ground, resulting in inadequate support for the home's floors.
Upon inspection, the wooden floor joists showed signs of damage and deterioration, resulting in instability in the home's foundation.
