Despite previous efforts to seal the foundation wall crack, water infiltration into the basement persisted. A more robust and comprehensive solution was necessary to effectively prevent water seepage in the basement area.
An extraction point was created in the garage floor. PVC pipe was then installed and sealed in the extraction point.
This sump pump and dehumidifier was unable to mitigate moisture levels in the crawl space. Erickson Foundation Solutions was called to install a permanent solution.
WaterGuard was installed around the basement's perimeter to intercept water before it reaches the finished area. To facilitate this system's installation along the foundation, the drywall needed to be removed.
The previously installed sump pump in the basement failed to capture water, resulting in leaks. The lack of a cover on the sump pump also contributed to humidity issues and made it prone to clogging due to debris.
The concrete around the basement's perimeter was removed to make room for the installation of WaterGuard. To protect against the dust generated by this process, our crew carefully covered the stored items in the basement with plastic.
Here, water can be seen on the basement floor. This completely ruined the flooring and walls, which had to get demoed as a result.
The TripleSafe Sump Pump was installed at the lowest point of the basement to facilitate a downwards flow of water into the sump basin. As water fills the basin, a series of three pumps is available to remove water from the home. This includes a battery-powered backup pump, which activates during emergency situations such as a power outage.
