The photograph reveals significant deterioration and crumbling of the brick support post, indicating a failure to adequately bear the load of the upper floors. This compromised support poses a serious threat to the structural integrity of the entire home.
The lally columns depicted in this photo were insufficient to adequately support the floors above the basement, resulting in noticeable sagging. To effectively stabilize and restore the structural integrity of the floors, a more robust and durable solution, such as our SmartJack System, was required.
Numerous foundation wall cracks were distinctly visible in the garage corner. These vertical fissures indicate settlement, with the garage corner detaching from the main structure. Implementing a robust solution is crucial to avert further foundation deterioration.
Metal rods are drilled out of the basement and into durable soil. The GeoLock system is then secured into place with galvanized steel plates.
FlexiSpan crack repair is a three-part process starting with the application of a flexible sealant along the entire length of the crack. Following this, a strip of flexible, porous foam is placed over the crack. The final step involves adhering an impermeable membrane to the wall on both sides of the foam strip. This reliable method ensures that any future water seepage through the crack will travel down the wall invisibly and into the basement's perimeter drainage system. The fieldstone foundation had a loose, crumbling stone, threatening the wall's stability. To prevent a complete collapse, we proposed a permanent solution: installing our auxiliary wall to stabilize the foundation and restore the home's structural integrity.
The exterior foundation wall crack indicated a significant foundation failure, suggesting settlement issues. Additionally, the foundation walls exhibited outward bowing. To address these concerns, a comprehensive solution was necessary to prevent further sinking and ensure the foundation walls remained securely attached to the overall structure.
The wooden Lally column that was previously installed in the crawl space began to buckle under the home's weight, losing its ability to support the floor above.
