This crack was discovered in the basement of a home in Youngstown, NY. The potential new home buyers wanted to make sure that this crack was not only fixed but also sealed in case of any possible water damage.
In Bruce's basement, water was coming in and pooling in one area. There was a crack running from the floor to the ceiling that had water slowly seeping in and dripping onto the floor, creating that large wet spot.
Over time, water has been seeping in at the point where the walls and floors meet. Those areas were always damp and started to leave water spots and some damage in certain areas.
When this homeowner called into Frank's, she let us know that she had been experiencing water seepage in the joint where the floor and wall met. Since their existing drainage system was not properly funneling the water flow, our crew installed a new drainage system.
There were signs of water damage at the junction of the wall and floor. That sign alone was enough to indicate that water was entering the basement. This usually happens due to something called hydrostatic pressure, which occurs when the soil surrounding the house's foundation has too much water and pushes it inward, often through the foundation of many homes.
Utilizing our CleanSpace Wall System, our crew was able to channel any water seepage from this wall into this homeowner's drainage system.
From the outside, this homeowner's wall looks ok, but from the inside it was a completely different story. The soil around this homeowner's wall was pushing the wall in, causing it to bow and crack beyond repair.
Our crew installed several powerbraces along this wall to stabilize it and prevent it from bowing further.
