My job was to raise the sinking cement of my driveway. First, the reasons for a 4 vs a 5 rating: I would prefer faster response times for getting the estimate and actual scheduling of the work. From starting the quotation process to the completion of the job, it took about two months. It was about a month from the first telephone call to request a quote to the actual date I met with their representative to receive their cost estimate of the work to be performed. Then, once I agreed and signed the contract (50% due at signing), it took another six weeks before the work was started. I would have appreciated much quicker response times getting the bid and starting the actual work. The other negative was the price. It was much more than I anticipated, like about 3 to 4 times my expectation. Their cost came in about seventy to eighty percent of what I expected to pay for a new driveway. But I went ahead with their estimate because I think the "polypro" injection accompanied with the sealant and caulking will be a more permanent fix to my sinking cement problem. As a side note, the alternative of a cement slurry used to raise the driveway a few years ago was not a permanent fix, lasting only four or five years before the driveway began sinking again. Now, the positive, which I would give a 5 Star Rating! My experience with the people representing the company was great, beginning with the initial telephone call, then the literature explaining the type of work to be performed, then the meeting with their sales rep, Kip, who was very patient and knowledgeable in explaining and answering my questions and concerns about the work. Then, finally, the workers, Darrell & Moises, who came to my home to do the actual work. They were very friendly, conscientious and took the time to explain and answer both mine and my wife's questions regarding the ongoing and completed work. Our project took parts of three days and they were very prompt in coming at the scheduled times and cleaning up afterwards. In short, I found Davenport to be a very professional, customer friendly business!
