This basement used to be characterized by carpet flooring that was worn and outdated. The carpet was also vulnerable to damage from moisture which can lead to mold, odor, and other issues – especially in a basement environment. Looking to make an improvement, the homeowner reached out to the experts at Total Basement Finishing.  

As a solution the homeowner selected ThermalDry Elite flooring in Light Pecan. A homeowner in Hamden had an unfinished basement they wanted to turn into a liveable/usable space. They wanted to turn it into a rec room potentially. They called our Total Basement Finishing team of Connecticut Basement Systems to have us make this possible. After scheduling a free estimate, one of our Sales Consultants, Cary Benjamin went out to the home to meet with the customer to develop a plan for how they wanted to transform their basement. 

Once a plan and proposal were made, it would soon be time for the installation process to begin. One of our Foremen, Erik Dobrzycki, worked on this finishing project. He installed framing and our EverLast wall system. He installed our Elite Plank flooring in Light Pecan. He also installed new doors and one of our EverLast basement windows. He installed new pine stairs and installed a drop ceiling. One of our electricians, Sean Duffy, installed all things electrical. Once it was completed it it looked beautiful! Then the homeowner was able to decorate it and make it their own livable space and they were thrilled with the results.

Before, this Avon home was cold and uninviting where the homeowner could not enjoy this part of her home. She wanted to finish her basement in order to utilize the space to its fullest potential. After completing the project, the basement was transformed into a beautiful and functional space. As you can see in the after photo, the walls and ceiling were finished.
