A homeowner in Richmond Hill, GA was experiencing some startling settlement in their crawl space. They had a high spot in the floor and some sagging in others which is never normal. After an inspection from one of of our Design Specialist, it was determined that the main beam of the home had started to separate at a junction point. This home in Saint Marys, GA had an area of the floor that was unlevel in the home. The crawlspace was subjected to high moisture levels, weakening the wood foundation over time, and increasing the need for more support in areas between the existing piers. We were able to help this homeowner by first installing SmartJacks to support one area of concern. Although the homeowner didn't have the resources at the time to have a full encapsulation installed, we were still able to provide a customized partial solution to the homeowner including drainage matting, our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, and a waterproofing system to pump excess water away from the space. The homeowner plans to make the investment in getting a full encapsulation in the future, complete with the CleanSpace vapor barrier.

A home owner in Saint Marys, GA was having an issue of wall cracks in the interior of their home. This was puzzling to the the homeowner due to the fact that the home is on a slab foundation. There is a common misconception that slab homes will have no issues. While they do have fewer issues than a crawl space, it is not true. Think about it: thousands of pounds of concrete and building material sitting on top of soil that was removed and disturbed in order to build the home. We fixed this settlement with interior helical slab piers, which have permanently stopped the slab settlement and even raised it back.
