In Hilton Head Island, a homeowner was facing the challenge of sagging main beams in their crawl space. As you can see in the first photo, this issue can cause discomfort and potential long-term problems. We approached this challenge as we always do—with expertise and care. By installing the SmartJack system for stability, PowerBrace for permanent wall support, and CleanSpace Drainage Matting for effective drainage, we transformed the space into something secure and lasting. The owners of this Port Royal, SC apartment complex had issues with one of their 2-story apartment buildings sinking on one side up to 10 inches! Not being able to rent the apartments closest to the sinking area, causing a loss in income, they researched online and called the experts at Lowcountry Foundation Repair to come and look at their foundation issues.

A combination of slab piers, a below-ground galvanized steel solution installed through the garage floors and helical piers, steel piers screwed into the ground around the perimeter of the building, were used to raise the foundation back to level. The combined system is designed to potentially lift slabs and any non-load bearing partition walls that may have settled along with the slab. It did for these building owners, and their building was bought level again. Now the apartments can be rented again!

SmartJack support posts were installed to stabilize the crawl space because the existing support columns were inadequate. These posts provide additional structural support, prevent further settling or sagging, and ensure the stability and safety of the structure above.
