Mel M. of Ellisville, Missouri had water coming into his basement, so he decided to call Woods Basement Systems for help. Systems design specialist, Max D. was able to find a solution and recommended installing a CleanSpace encapsulation system and WaterGuard.

Foreman, Tyler S. installed the products. CleanSpace is a very durable, vapor barrier made of inorganic materials, so it is not susceptible to mold growth. It is used to collect water that seeps through basement walls. WaterGuard is a perimeter drainage system, so it is installed below the CleanSpace around the perimeter of the basement floor. It takes the collected water and guides it to the sump pump to be fully removed from the home, keeping it nice and dry.

A crawlspace's insulation was failing in Ellisville, MO, and moisture was entering it. It was also not supported correctly, causing even more issues. To fix these problems, SilverGlo Insulation was first installed. This features a radiant barrier infused with graphite, so the heat is reflected into the crawlspace, saving energy. Next, the CleanSpace Encapsulation System was installed. This will completely isolate the crawlspace from the earth, dramatically reducing the humidity level. This will also eliminate mold growth and make the whole house healthier. The white finished side will brighten the crawlspace and allow one to see inside easily. Lastly, the SmartJack System was installed. These are steel support systems that can permanently stabilize and level the floor joists and girders in a crawlspace. They are unaffected by moisture, as they will not rust, weaken, or be affected by mold. These will lift the floors above back toward their original position, and reduce floor “bounce” caused by excessive joist spans Thanks to these systems, this crawlspace will remain warm, dry, and stable for years to come!

Foreman Kevin J. and his crew installed CleanSpace vapor barrier on the walls and WaterGuard around the perimeter. The CleanSpace used on the walls will collect any water vapor that makes it through the porous walls. Instead of evaporating into the basement, it will now be caught and redirected to the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard will collect the water and take it to the sump pump to be removed from the home.
