Walls Bowing Dale, IN
Our client in Dale, IN had walls in their basement that were bowing and beginning to crack. As forces of nature, such as moisture and frost, interact with the soil around your home, the soil expands. That expansion results in constant inward force on your foundation walls until it can no longer support the pressure, causing cracking, bowing, and tipping.
After seeing a post on our Facebook page, Larry gave us a call for a free inspection. Our team installed 5 PowerBrace's throughout the basement. The PowerBrace system permanently stabilizes your foundation walls. Zinc-plated steel beams are custom-fit to your basement height and tightly secured against the wall with brackets that are anchored to the basement floor below and first-floor framing above. PowerBraces are the best option when access to the yard outside of the home is not possible and problematic walls need to be solved.
Sinking foundation? Bowing or cracked walls? Healthy Spaces can help! We offer free, no-obligation inspections.
Hartford, IN Foundation Stabilization
Foundation stabilization technology has changed a lot in the last 150 years. Unfortunately, many of the foundation components haven't. This home, like many in the Hartford, IN area, is resting on a yellow brick foundation. In order to stabilize the bricks and keep the foundation level, concrete pylons were poured at intervals along the foundation. Now, the homeowners have noticed extreme settling and cracking throughout the home. The best and most long-lasting way to stabilize this foundation is to clip the pylons and put the entire home on a rugged steel push pier system. In the before picture, you can see the pylon and surrounding brick. In the after picture, you can see the installed piers, which have been hydraulically driven to the engineer approved resistance depth and are resting on bedrock underneath. The piers have been capped off and the home is now off weighted from the failing soil onto the piers.
Sagging and Sinking Crawl Space in Hartford, KY
New homeowners, Carl & Becky, moved into a home in Hartford, KY. It was flagged on the inspection report for their crawl space floors sagging. They could see that there was an area where their floor was sloping. After reading through our google reviews, they gave Healthy Spaces a call for a free inspection.
Our System Design Specialist worked with Carl & Becky to put together a proposal they felt comfortable with and a plan that restores the value of their home. Together they decided Healthy Spaces would need to install 16 SmartJack's and supplemental beams. The SmartJack System provides solid support for sagging and undersized beams, restoring stability and straightness to sagging floor joists in a crawl space.

Bowing & Cracked Wall in Lewisport, KY
This Lewisport home was experiencing the common signs of a wall failure problem: stair-step cracking on the inside of their home. Once these homeowners realized that the problem could (and would!) eventually get worse, they quickly gave Healthy Spaces a call to solve the problem.
Our System Design Specialist, Damon Cheatham, concluded that the foundation would need to permanently stabilize the walls by installing PowerBraces. The PowerBrace is designed to support basement walls and allow for potential straightening over time. Some highlights on installing PowerBraces are: their zinc coating makes the entire system resistant to corrosion, clean-cut appearance, and professionally installed.
With a plan set, Kye Devine and his production team came to the home to start the project.
Crawl Space Jack Posts Repair in Lewisport, KY
Our client in Lewisport, KY began experiencing a bouncy, squeaky floor. After calling Healthy Spaces for a free inspection, it was discovered they had concrete blocks stacked on top of the footer, with wooden "shims" wedged in at the top to fill any empty space. This solution doesn't work because as the concrete columns later settle into the soil below, additional shims may need to be added. In other words, this is a repair that will never permanently be fixed!
Our team replaced some of their supplemental beams and installed 5 SmartJacks. The SmartJack system addresses a solid base of engineered fill to distribute the weight of the home. Galvanized steel columns are cut to length, set on a cast of aluminum footing and secured to existing girders or supplemental beams with adjustable top brackets.
