West Louisville, KY Basement Waterproofing

A wet basement is never fun. Not only does it create a lot of work for you to clean up, but it really limits what you can do with your below grade, basement space! It's impossible to finish the space if it floods, especially if you've finished it before and had massive damage. You don't want to store anything down there that you really care about because it might get wet. Suddenly, you lose out on anywhere from 1/3 to 1/2 of your overall square footage because your basement is wet.

This homeowner decided that he would like to be able to use his basement as a storage area without concerns about flooding. No more wet basement for him! He opted to have Healthy Spaces come in and install an interior perimeter drain system, sometimes referred to as a french drain system) to prevent the basement from ever flooding again. In addition, he opted to have CleanSpace Wall System installed over all his basement walls to direct water into the Healthy Spaces Waterguard perimeter drainage system. The CleanSpace Wall system will keep water and water vapor from leaking in the walls and into the basement. He will drastically reduce his relative humidity, lowering his risk for mold growth, musty smells, and water damage. The Waterguard Perimeter drainage system will direct any water intrusion into a SuperSump sump pump to be removed from the basement. Phew! What a lifesaver!

Basement Waterproofing System Installed in Island, KY

Water in the basement is never a good thing because it leads to increased moisture, mold, and an unhappy homeowner. This Island, KY homeowner was feeling all of these things. She finally decided to call Healthy Spaces for a free inspection.

Upon receiving Mary's call for help, Design Specialist, Mike McAtee was scheduled to do a thorough inspection of her basement. When he arrived, they greeted each other with a smile and the work began. He recommended that a new drainage system be installed to prevent any more leaking. This drainage system would be under the concrete, so it wouldn't be noticeable. It runs straight to the new TripleSafe sump pump that was also installed.

Adding Natural Sunlight To A Basement In Greenville, KY

The purpose of basement windows is to add appeal to your space by bringing in natural sunlight. When your windows are rusted, covered in debris, or doing little more than affording a view of an old, rusty window well, then they're not doing their job. So that's why we installed 4 of our EverLast Basement Windows. Our EverLast Windows are energy-efficient, vinyl-framed replacement windows. Having a covered window well keeps cold winter winds from blowing against the panes, while the Low-E double thermopane glass of EverLast Windows saves you on your energy bills. It's a small upgrade that really made a big difference in this homeowner home!

Basement Window Transformation in Tennyson, IN

This homeowner in Tennyson, IN, knew that the reason the basement was leaking was because of a window. They were rusty, ugly, and open at the top allowing debris, rain, and gutter overflow water to sneak in. The bottom of the window well was dirt which allowed weeds to grow and mud to splash up on the window. The view from his basement was lousy and the maximum amount of natural light wasn't being allowed in.

Design Specialist, Chris Russel, was sent to help the homeowner come up with a plan to fix the windows.

A SunHouse window well cover was this homeowner's easy solution. This light-colored window well features a clear cover that fits nicely and a bottom that prevents weed growth while keeping leaves, debris, and rain out. One of the best benefits is that a lot more sunlight bounces into the basement and brightens up the space because of the light-colored bottom.

Waterguard Installed in Owensboro, KY Basement

In this comparison, you can see how the Healthy Spaces installation team is able to direct water from a leaking basement into a perimeter drain system called Waterguard, which is then connected to a high powered sump pump system to keep the basement from flooding.

You can see the gray Waterguard drainage system has been placed in a trench along the entire basement perimeter. Waterguard is a unique system because it doesn't clog like traditional French drains. One of the reasons that this doesn't happen is that Waterguard sits out of the dirt beneath your foundation--it rests on the foundation footer, where it can capture both water coming in from below and water weeping in from the walls. The entire system is cemented in place to ensure a high quality finish. In fact, Waterguard is such an effective system that you can finish your basement and forget that it's there.
