Bowing Wall Repair in Princeton, IA
This Princeton, IA homeowner was concerned about the stability of their basement walls due to inward bowing. To permanently address this issue and prevent further movement, we installed GeoLock wall anchors.
GeoLock is a foundation repair system specifically designed to stabilize bowing basement walls. Here's how it works:
- Earth Anchors: Heavy-duty anchors are placed deep in stable soil outside the foundation.
- Steel Rods: These anchors are connected to the bowing wall with long, galvanized steel rods that resist corrosion.
- Wall Plate: A steel plate is attached to the inside of the basement wall, distributing the pressure from the rod.
- Tightening Mechanism: The rods can be tightened over time, straightening the wall back to its original position in some cases.
By anchoring the wall to stable soil, GeoLock counteracts the pressure causing the bowing and reinforces the foundation. This minimally disruptive solution can be hidden behind finished basement walls and provides peace of mind for homeowners
