Radon Mitigation System Installed in Minneapolis, MN

A homeowner in Minneapolis, MN, was scrolling through social media when he came upon a post discussing the dangers of radon. He learned that radon is a by-product of uranium, which can be found in soil. As soil decays, it releases radon gas, which creates a high toxicity level in the air. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer, second only to cigarette smoking. After learning this information, the homeowner went to his local convenience store to purchase a radon test kit. In a couple of days, the test results were above 4 pCi/L, and the homeowner quickly began searching for radon mitigation services in the area. The homeowner came upon our website and was impressed with our reviews. He contacted us and claimed his FREE estimate.

Our Design Specialist, Mitch S., arrived at the home, and the homeowner informed him that he had already tested the radon levels of his home and would like our radon mitigation system installed. Mitch understood and quickly got to work designing where the system would be installed. He explained to the homeowner that our radon mitigation system would be installed at the home's lowest level and consist of a large-diameter plastic pipe that would connect the air beneath the foundation to outdoors. The homeowner understood and agreed to his design.

In about a month, our Foreman, Dakota M., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They would drill a hole at the footing and place a PVC pipe, which would then connect the system that is installed outside of the home. This design tackles the radon-rich air by spewing it outside before it can reach the home. Once the crew was done with the installation, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

Settling Walkway in Minneapolis, MN Lifted

A homeowner in Minneapolis, MN, had a growing issue of concrete slabs sinking in his walkway. Knowing it would only continue to worsen, the homeowner decided to tackle the issue immediately by contacting us and scheduling his FREE estimate.

In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Brad W., arrived at the home to provide a thorough inspection, answer any questions the homeowner had, and provide the best solution. Brad explained to the homeowner that soil washout is one of the most common reasons for sinking concrete slabs. When it rains or floods, water moves through the ground and washes away supporting soils, causing the slabs to settle. For this reason, Brad recommended our PolyLevel, a waterproof foam expanding formula, to lift the concrete slabs, and NexusPro, a silicone-based sealant, to seal the steps. The homeowner happily agreed to Brad's recommendation and scheduled the installation date.

In about a month, our crew arrived at the home to carry out the installation. PolyLevel is installed by first drilling small 3/8 inch holes into the slabs. Using an injection gun, PolyLevel is then injected beneath the slab, filling in the voids in the concrete. Once the slab has been lifted to the desired level, the crew seals the holes with cement. Lastly, they sealed the joints of the steps with NexusPro.
