This homeowner wanted us to help stop mold from growing in their crawl space. We waterproofed, then encapsulated with a moisture barrier, then sealed out the old vents, then we installed a world class dehumidifier.

The owner of this home in Shelbyville, KY, was concerned about water damage and musty smells in their crawl space, so they gave us a call to fix it. We suggested an encapsulation for their crawl space, complete with a perimeter waterproofing system, a vapor barrier sealing, new insulation, and a dehumdifier. This new customized encapsulation project will ensure their crawl space stays dry and must free. On top of the added health benefits to everyone who lives in the home, this project will help prevent costly framing repairs down the road, and it will help the homeowners save on monthly energy costs. 

This crawl space in Ghent, KY, was skirted on one side but had stone walls everywhere else. The homeowner was concerned with their sagging floor joists in the crawl space, as well as dust and mold. To prevent mold and odors, control the moisture and dust, and permanently stabilize the floors, we wrapped the crawl space with our 20 mil CleanSpace vapor barrier, set up our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, and we installed a SmartJack post system. This system helped even out the floors above the crawl space, and it helped reduce musty odors and dust from entering the rest of the home.

This crawl space underneath a church in Ghent, KY, was struggling with moisture issues. If you look closely at the attached "before" picture, you'll notice that the ducts are dripping with condensation. This wet air was not just causing musty smells, but it was also starting to deteriorate the framing and the ductwork below the church. To repair the crawl space, we started by wrapping the floor with our dimpled drainage matting, which will help make the crawl space more comfortable to crawl around in after we finished the project. We then wrapped the entire space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier, which will help seal moisture out of the space. We finished the project by sealing all the vents and installing a dehumidifier. After the project was finished, the churchgoers noticed an immediate change in the smell and feel, even on the first floor of the building.
