This homeowner in South Yarmouth, MA was looking to improve the conditions of their crawl space by adding more support to their home's foundation. When our inspector, Steve, went out to take a look during the free estimate, he explained that we could definitely help with adding support to the foundation of the home, but there was even more we could do for the crawl space to improve it. Steve explained how the air inside of the crawl space enters the home because of the stack effect, which is the natural movement of air within a building due to temperature differences. This crawl space had a dirt floor and was heavily impacted by outside conditions like rain and temperature. The homeowner recognized the importance of having a healthy crawl space because it creates a healthy home. On installation day, our foreman Carlos and his crew added support to the foundation with our SmartJacks, which are strong beams made of galvanized steel that support and even readjust floors if needed. They also encapsulated the space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier and installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to control the humidity in the air. Now the homeowner can feel confident that not only their crawl space is in great shape, their home is too!
