Muskegon Home Improved With WaterGuard
Matt in Muskegon gave us a call saying that water was beginning to get into his basement with large rain falls. After going out for our free inspection, we realized that he had a drainage issue. To fix this, we installed our WaterGuard.
WaterGuard is a perimeter drainage system that is placed on top of the footing. Most perimeter drainage systems are placed alongside the footing, but doing it that way makes it susceptible to mud getting in and clogging it. Being on top of the footing is a huge advantage, because it is no longer sitting in the mud; it's on top of it, which obviously makes it much harder for mud to get in.
As you can see, to start out we have to jackhammer out the trench where the WaterGuard will fit into. After this, we place drainage stone above the footing to help aid the waterproofing process.
Once the WaterGuard is installed, we then fill the trench back up with concrete, making the drain virtually invisible, and completely out of the way.
Insulating Crawl Spaces in Muskegon, MI
A customer had cold air and moisture leaking into her crawl space so she called our team for help. Small cracks and seams can exist around rim joists, but after insulating them all of those cracks are sealed off. Now airflow and moisture is restricted keeping outside air and moisture out and inside air and moisture in.
Leveling Concrete Slabs in Muskegon, MI
A customer needed our help because the concrete slabs in his driveway were sinking. So he called our team and we installed PolyLevel, a waterproof and long-lasting system designed to fix concrete slabs that have sunk. It uses a polyurethane foam that expands and has a high density in order to lift the concrete slabs back to their original level. The process is quite simple and is done by drilling small holes into the concrete and then inserting the foam into the holes.
Using Egress Windows to Create Liveable Spaces in North Muskegon, MI
Homeowners wanted to turn their basement into a livable space. So they contacted our team and we installed an egress window and well. Regular windows offer minimal protection against outside air entering the home because they are poorly insulated around the window. Egress windows will help ventilate your indoor areas and prevent unwanted allergens from entering your house. Also, egress windows provide a safe exit in case of emergency so they are required in finished basement living areas. In addition, these windows provide lots of natural light.
Flooded Basement Repair in Muskegon, MI
This Muskegon homeowner called us because their finished basement flooded a couple different times in the past year. The water covered the entire floor and it started getting better in the summer months until some heavy rain came in and water started to come back into the home. When we went to inspect the issue, we saw that the cracks in the floor were wet, where the floor meets the wall was wet, the sump pump was continuously running, and the floor was uneven so a lot of the water was not even getting to the sump pump unless it was pushed there. The homeowners needed to have the issue fixed so more damage could not be done and we had just the products to do so. We first installed the WaterGuard system which is made up a French drain under the floor but above the foundation so it won't clog. The system collects water that leaks into the area and drains it to the sump pump. We then installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump which provides three levels of protection to the basement and peace of mind to the homeowners that their home is safe.
