Keeping Basements Dry with EverLast Windows in Kalamazoo, MI

Paint was flaking in Julie’s basement due to  water entering her basement through her window. We installed an EverLast basement window in order to fix her problem. EverLast windows are made from insulated glass so Julie won't have to worry about heat loss or water seeping through cracks in the window. Also, EverLast windows do not rot no matter how much water they are in contact with. Therefore, installing an EverLast window let Julie relax and no longer have to worry about water intrusion.

FlexiSpan Seals Off Crack in Kalamazoo, MI wall

This homeowner had a small crack in an outside wall of his home that was allowing water to come in during heavy rain.

To seal of the crack and keep water out of the home, we installed the FlexiSpan wall system. We first installed a drain at the base of the crack to create a drainage route for intruding water. Next we applied the FlexiSpan material to the seal off the crack. This specialized material is extremely flexible and allows it to move with the natural shift of the wall, which prevents the crack from re-forming and expanding.

The Ultimate Basement Makeover in Kalamazoo, MI

This dim and leaky Kalamzoo basement desperately needed help. The walls were wet and stained, the floor was wet - the entire area felt dingy and dark. This family decided to take back their basement, and Ayers was there to help. With the addition of the WaterGuard drainage system, a SuperSump Pump, and BrightWall, the basement went through a remarkable transformation.

Our crew started with WaterGuard to tackle the leaking water problem. After the concrete around the perimeter had been removed, the system was installed and patched back up underground and out of sight. The WaterGuard will collect any water from the walls or floor acting as a drain by directing it into the SuperSump Pump. The SuperSump can send over 2,000 gallons of water through the system per hour and is one of the most reliable methods for keeping a basement dry when paired with WaterGuard. The SuperSump pumps the water and moisture outside and away from the house.

Power Brace was added the the basement walls, which are steels beems to counteract any bowing the walls may face. The beams are attached into the foundation of the floor and ceiling, and can be tightened to help walls return to their original position. The BrightWall was the final touch and tied the basement together. Installation of the inorganic platic panels will stop any mold from growing, and hide any stained walls making the basement brighter and more welcoming.

Brightening a Basement in Kalamazoo, MI

Leaking basement walls are known to worry homeowners. Things only get worse when mold is discovered along with the leaks. Mold will grow on any organic material if the temperature permits it. The only thing it really needs is humidity.

When this customer called and told us he was looking to replace his water damaged walls, we knew that mold was a possibility - now or in the future. The team used a SaniDry XP dehumidifier and BrightWall to prevent this possibility from becoming reality. Unlike the stone walls that were already in place, BrightWall panels are made from inorganic material so mold won’t grow on them. This same inorganic plastic creates a barrier that neither water vapor or humidity can pass through. The new panels did more than just add protection from mold and water damage, like the name says, this Kalamazoo basement is now brighter than ever.
