WaterGuard System Keeps Problem Area Dry in Sumner, MI
Our crew headed to a homeowner in Sumner, Michigan, to install a waterproofing system. Larry's basement had a problem corner where water would creep in. We agreed to install our WaterGuard solution. This interior drainage system is placed along the basement's perimeter to collect water leaks. The drain is concealed with concrete to ensure it blends with the rest of the floor. Any leaks will then get redirected to the sump pump. Larry is glad his worries about water damage are gone!
Basement Walls Enhanced with Brightwall Paneling in Parma, MI
We all know doing laundry isn’t the most enjoyable experience, but it’s probably a lot less unpleasant if you have to do it in a basement like this one. The mortar around the cinderblock walls is crumbling, letting moisture into the basement. While the owners have a sump pump, there’s no way for the water from the leaky walls to enter it; that’s where WaterGuard comes in.
Our team installed WaterGuard, a drainage system that’s laid on top of the footing around the perimeter of the basement. This piping collects water from the leaky walls and reroutes it to the sump pump, where it’s then forced out of the basement through a discharge line.
To improve the overall look of the walls, we also installed BrightWall paneling. These plastic panels fastened to the wall brighten the space, while still allowing water from the walls behind it to drain to the WaterGuard system. These panels prevent water vapor from coming through the walls and evaporating the basement, too.
WaterGuard helps eliminate the water from the leaky walls in this basement, while Brightwall paneling dramatically enhances the space. We won’t promise the homeowners that doing their laundry will be fun, but we hope it will be a lot more bearable when it’s done in this bright, dry basement.

SuperSump Takes on Underground Spring in Dimondale, MI
This Dimondale, MI home was flooding about 7 times a year and the homeowners weren’t sure what they could do about it. They had already taken steps to waterproofing it. But with an underground spring, there was no telling when the next flooding might occur. The wife had decided enough was enough and gave Ayers a call to see about waterproofing the home as a surprise for her husband.
The team arrived and immediately began to upgrade the system. Instead of depending solely on a sump pump to handle flooding water, they installed a new WaterGuard system to lead the water directly to the sump for disposal. However, it wouldn’t be the same pump that the couple had struggled with in the past. As you can see in the between before and after photos, the team installed one of a new SuperSump. The SuperSump is one of our more reliable sump pump systems, capable of sending out over 2,000 gallons of water per hour. Even a basement that floods as often as this one will be protected with that kind of power.
An upgraded waterproof system is the type of surprise we here at Ayers love. Enjoy!
FlexiSpan Helps Make a Home Sell in Dimondale, MI
A crack on this basement wall had started seeping water into the basement. The water seepage was even worse because it was leaking right into the partially finished side of the basement. Since the owner had already put the house on the market, the leaking wall presented a real problem. As you can see in the before photo, the large crack ran all the way down the wall and could produce a lot of water.
The FlexiSpan system in the after photo is perfect for large cracks like this. It’s a two-layer system that both plugs the cracks and creates a drainage route for any water that penetrates the seal. The secondary drainage layer leads water down the wall and into the drain well at the bottom of the photo. This leak won’t cause any more problems and certainly, won’t delay the sale of the home. Note: the drain well in the after photo was covered with concrete before the job was completed.
