Waterproofing a Holt MI Basement with Crack Repair

These Holt homeowners were having some issues with their basement. They had some cracks that were starting to separate and water coming into the area in several places. We had solutions for both problems to keep the basement dry and safe. We started with the CarbonArmor to stabilize the walls and keep the wall from moving any further. We then installed the DoubleSafe Sump Pump System which receives water from the drain system and expels it out of the home to keep the area free of water. Lastly, we installed the WaterGuard Drain System which will collect water that seeps into the basement and send it to the sump pump. This drain system is installed under the floor and the concrete is restored so there is no unsightly drain. All of these products install quickly and won't interfere with future basement finishing!

Proper Discharge Line Channels Water Away From Holt, MI Home

Scott and Kathleen had a competitor install a waterproofing system in their home that had a discharge line that dispelled water into their neighbor's yard. The lack of an extended discharge line away from the home meant that expelled water traveled right back into the home through the soil surrounding the house. We installed an extended discharge line at an angle that runs between the home and the neighboring home. We also installed the IceGuard Discharge Line System which is a fitting that is placed over the top of your discharge line in the event that water needs a secondary escape route. This prevents it from freezing.

Egress Window Replaces Tiny, Unattractive Basement Window in Holt, MI

Jeffrey was hoping to get a replacement for his current tiny basement window that wasn't doing him any favors. He called up Ayers and expressed his interest in our Egress Windows. These make a great addition to your basement as they are much larger which opens up the space with more natural light able to shine through. These are waterproof windows with an exterior well built around it to ensure water doesn't leak into his basement. The best advantage is its safety factor since Egress Windows provide a safe exit in the event an emergency takes place. Jeffrey was very pleased with the finished look these windows gave his basement!

Bacteria-Ridden Lansing Drainage System Replaced with Triple Safe Sump Pump and WaterGuard IOS

Signs of water damage led this couple to call us. The buildup of iron ochre bacteria had rendered their current drainage system ineffective and the entire setup needed to be replaced.

We installed a new TripleSafe sump pump system with IceGuard and a LawnScape outlet, and due to the presence of the iron ochre, we used the WaterGuard IOS Perimeter Drain Channel, which features a wider design and removable lid for easy access and maintenance.

The new WaterGuard system will direct water to the sump pump, and with its easy access lid it will be easier to maintain the iron ochre problem and stop the buildup from recurring.

WaterGuard Saves Former O'Rafferty High School in Lansing, MI

Think of this as more of a "before" and "during," so you can see what WaterGuard installation looks like in progress.

The owners of the building that was once O'Rafferty High School in Lansing called us because the sump pump wasn't able to keep up with the water (and had a pretty nasty iron ochre problem) and the basement had a steadily increasing water problem.

After installing a new TripleSafe sump pump, it took almost 600 feet of WaterGuard, and another 100 feet of cross drainage and 200 feet of extra discharge line, to properly drain the water in this huge basement.

When WaterGuard is installed, it's necessary to take out some of the concrete floor, as well as cut back the walls at floor level in order to properly install it. This, along with the cross tile drainage, is what is pictured in the after. Post-installation, it's just a matter of pouring new concrete and replacing the removed sections of wall, and the basement is good as new.
