Helical Piers Provide the Perfect Support for Reading, MI Home

Marcia and Bob grew worried about their foundation as cracks were forming. The couple decided to reach out to us at Ayers Basement Systems, and an inspection was soon conducted. The review determined that the foundation was settling, causing cracks to form. Our team suggested Helical Piers as it would provide a permanent solution against the foundation. Helical Piers are screwed into the ground until load-bearing soil is met and then attached to the home's foundation. Once the systems were set, our crew could level and stabilize the foundation eliminating stress on Marcia and Bob!

SmartJacks Lift a Settling Foundation in Cement City, MI

After a questionable foundation repair to this Cement City, MI home, the owners began to notice that they’re basement didn’t look quite right. There were cracks in the foundation and front porch. Not to mention, both the floors upstairs and porch seemed to be sagging and uneven. In other words, the foundation was starting to settle. The owners wanted to keep their basement separate from the upstairs for a little while longer, so they made a call to the basement and foundation experts, Ayers Basement Systems.

To fix this settling foundation, the crew used SmartJacks. The jacks are usually used to repair the floor above sagging crawl spaces, but thanks to their adjustability, the jacks were perfect for this low basement ceiling. Similar to the installation process for crawl spaces, the SmartJacks were attached to previously installed reinforcement beams in the ceiling and lodged into the concrete slab at floor level. The SmartJacks will reduce the amount of stress on the foundation and stabilize the ceiling back to its original position.

30 Years of Bowing to Standing Tall in Clarklake, MI

William’s wall withstood 30 years of bowing and finally started cracking pretty significantly. There were no signs of intruding water yet however it was sure to follow after the crack got deeper and wider. William called our team and we came out and installed GeoLock Wall Anchors. The Geo-Lock Wall Anchor System repairs walls that are sliding inwards, bowing, or buckling. A wall anchor will be installed inside your home and extend outward towards stable, hard-packed soil around your home to anchor it in place. This prevents any further movement permanently and is installed with minimal disruption to your home or your lawn. We can even conceal the anchors with our Hide-A-Way covers for a more finished appearance. Now William's wall will return to standing tall and strong like the day he built the house and intruding water won't be a concern.

Foundation Repair on Michigan Center, MI Home

Rose has lived in her Michigan Center, MI home for a few years. When she moved in, she had Ayers out for a bit of waterproofing work. Now a new issue has arisen with her foundation. After the last big rain, water entered from the north wall. The foundation in that spot has bowed and shifted. After an inspection in Rose's home, our crew determined that she would need GeoLock Wall Anchors as well as 3 inch Helical Piers.

GeoLock Wall Anchors permanently stops foundational shifting in its tracks. The anchors have three parts. The first part is a plate on the interior foundation wall. A steel cable is drilled through the plate into the soil, directed away from the home. A second plate is anchored to the other side of the cable for maximum stabilization.

Helical Piers are made of steel helix-shaped blades that are screwed into the soil and the piers that can be extended to the appropriate depth. They're attached to the foundation’s footing so the weight is evenly distributed and the home is permanently stabilized.

Rose was thrilled with the work Ayers Basement Systems did for a second time on her home. She is always pleased with the level of professionalism and craftsmanship on every job our crew completes. If any other issue arises, Ayers is first on the list for Rose.
