The review determined that the foundation was settling, causing cracks to form. Our team suggested Helical Piers as it would provide a permanent solution against the foundation. Helical Piers are screwed into the ground until load-bearing soil is met and then attached to the home's foundation. Once the systems were set, our crew could level and stabilize the foundation eliminating stress on Marcia and Bob!

After a questionable foundation repair to this Cement City, MI home, the owners began to notice that they’re basement didn’t look quite right. There were cracks in the foundation and front porch. To fix this settling foundation, the crew used SmartJacks. The jacks are usually used to repair the floor above sagging crawl spaces, but thanks to their adjustability, the jacks were perfect for this low basement ceiling. Similar to the installation process for crawl spaces, the SmartJacks were attached to previously installed reinforcement beams in the ceiling and lodged into the concrete slab at floor level. The SmartJacks will reduce the amount of stress on the foundation and stabilize the ceiling back to its original position.

These Clarklake homeowners have had a crack in the basement walls since the home was built and the soil was backfilled. GeoLock Wall Anchors permanently stops foundational shifting in its tracks. The anchors have three parts. The first part is a plate on the interior foundation wall. A steel cable is drilled through the plate into the soil, directed away from the home. A second plate is anchored to the other side of the cable for maximum stabilization. 

Helical Piers are made of steel helix-shaped blades that are screwed into the soil and the piers that can be extended to the appropriate depth. They're attached to the foundation’s footing so the weight is evenly distributed and the home is permanently stabilized.
