UltraSump Eliminates Water from Tipton, MI, Basement

Mike was shocked at the amount of water that leaked into his basement during the last storm. He realized his sump pump wasn't working during power outages. Mike wanted to get this fixed, so he called Ayers for help. We sent a team of experts to recommend a solution. Our team decided it was best to install the UltraSump sump pump system. This system prevents sump pump failure by using a battery-powered backup pump to ensure the house stays dry without power and alerts the homeowner when it's in use.

A Proven Sump Pump System in Gladwin, MI

The problems with this sump pump system began back in the spring when it was installed as a replacement. The owner was hoping that a new system would be the end of his crawl space troubles, but the sump continued to run after it had pumped all the water out. When the owner had someone come out to repair the pump, it resulted in the before photo.  Not only did the pump and liner come out of the original hole, the discharge line was also broken and sprayed water all over the pea stone ground. After the failure of a second sump pump system, the owner wanted a trusted system he could depend on and began researching sumps. When he found our sealed crock systems with backup pumps, he knew that his search had come to an end. The pump he chose to use in the after photo is our TripleSafe system with a twist. Instead of 3 pumps in the sump, the owner elected to remove the secondary ½ horsepower pump but kept the additional battery powered pump in case of power outages. This crawl space won’t have to worry about sump pump failure again.

WaterProofing for Gladwin, MI Cottage

Brian and Rose love their cottage getaway, but to have water within their walkout basement is a terrible inconvenience. After calling Ayers Basement Systems, they requested to have their walkout basement waterproofed. With our Triple Safe Sump Pump system, which will ensure the basement stays dry thanks to its three trusted pumps, Brian and Rose no longer need to worry about having a wet basement anymore.

Egress Window Brings Natural Light into Pellston, MI Basement

Shawn B installed an egress window after waterproofing his basement. These windows are large and allow natural light to flow in and transform a dark, muggy basement into a light, airy space. If you plan to create a basement bedroom, by law you are required to install an egress window. Shawn also opted to have us install SunHouse window wells to help protect your basement windows from the elements as well as a build up of dirt and debris.

Window Wells Get an Upgrade in Gaylord, MI

The problem with traditional basement window wells is the material they’re made of. Metal wells can be corroded, rusted or cracked by the weather and elements. The effects are only amplified when you consider that these wells are a few feet deep in soil. Once the wells have finally taken enough of a beating, water is able to push its way in.

These Gaylord, MI homeowners were dealing with that exact type of problem when we heard from them. Not only were the cracks allowing water to leak into the wells, the water had started to flood into their basement. Our replacement wells are made of plastic that won’t be eroded by the elements, so the cracks that let water seep in will be a thing of the past.  Nor will they rust from the inside out; The wells come equipped with a plastic cover that won’t allow rain water or debris to build up. Replacing the rusted metal wells should be enough to solve the problem once and for all, but just in case leaks persist in another area of the basement, the team also installed a waterproofing system (including a window crack drain) to keep the house protected.
