A family in Marine City, MI was renting their home to another family member. This tennant had gone into the crawl space and quickly became aware of a burst pipe along one of the walls. There were puddles throughout the crawl space and the insulation had been damaged as well. The family wanted to have the home evaluated by a professional for things like mold and wood damage. They reached out to HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair to get this process started.

One of the senior project managers, Zach, inspected the entirety of the crawl space and returned to the family. He shared the unfortunate news that the mold had compromised the integrity of the wood in the crawl space, including the main beam. The family was alarmed by this information and prepared to have it handled immediately. Zach suggested HomeSpec get rid of the mold using Mold-X2. He also suggested that instead of replacing the damaged beam, HomeSpec install a steel beam along side the wooden one and use steel SmartJack® support posts to reinforce the home. The family accepted this proposal and they were happy with the decision as soon as the work was completed.

HomeSpec's project manager, Bill, inspected the homeowner's property and confirmed the water leakage and the cracked and uneven concrete. Paul and Maryjo in Beverly Hills, Michigan contacted HomeSpec to repair their heavily damaged basement walls. The concrete block walls walls were cracked, broken and bowing – and even leaking water into the basement. 

To address these issues, foreman Vernon Bryan and his crew needed to stabilize the walls. They excavated the walls, pushed them back into place, and then waterproofed the exterior of the foundation. On the interior, the PowerBrace Wall Repair System was installed to stabilize the walls and prevent further movement. The cracks were all filled and sealed as well. 

Foundation issues are very serious and will only worsen over time if not properly repaired. These homeowners waited a long time before finally calling a professional to solve the issues, and they were glad they ultimately did!

An interior drainage system was installed with some adjustments due to the presence of iron algae. The IDS was then connected to a TripleSafe™ sump pump and sump discharge.
