"I'm so tired of cleaning up a wet basement. Help."

That's what Scott F. in Royal Oak, Michigan said when he contacted HomeSpec. Water had been seeping into his basement whenever it rained and he needed a long-term repair – so that's what we gave him. 

Foreman Blake Dushefski and his crew installed a WaterGuard Drainage System, also referred to as a French Drain. This was connected to a TripleSafe Sump Pump which can pump out 2,000+ gallons of water per hour. This system installs below the floor around the perimeter of the basement to gather any water coming into the basement, then deposits it into the sump pump to be directed away from the home. This is the most efficient way to waterproof a basement from the interior. 

Scott was so excited to have a dry basement for the first time ever – and the system even held up against the record rainfall and flooding that occurred recently, which made him very happy. 

A homeowner in Troy, MI had us install a drainage system on three of the four walls in their basement to prevent leaking in 2018, but now, water is leaking through the wall which we didn't install the system on and they wanted us to come out and finish waterproofing the entire basement. 

A Troy, MI homeowner noticed a while ago that there were growing cracks in the foundation wall. They decided to have it fixed; however, after more time had gone by, the cracks began to worsen. The homeowner desired a permanent fix so they would not have to repair the same cracks again. They called HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair to receive a free inspection.

Ted, a senior project manager, went out to the home and investigated the cracks in question. After gauging the situation, he proposed a plan to the homeowner. He suggested drilling through the wall and using a high pressure urethane crack injection to fill any voids and completely seal the cracks. The homeowner agreed with this plan and later witnessed the completed project. Mike, a service technician, was in charge of this foundation wall crack repair and left the homeowner happy with the work.

Homeowners in Troy, MI saw that water was intruding in a corner where the wall meets the floor. They tried to dry the carpet out themselves, but, unfortunately, the damage had already been done in the Florida room and additional damages had occurred in the basement beneath it. The homeowners had plans to renovate so they could use the Florida room more often but knew they would have to fix the water problems first. HomeSpec’s senior project manager, Erik, inspected the residence and recommended different repairs for different sections. For the Florida room, he suggested using ThermalDry® Elite Plank Flooring and interior and exterior waterproofing for the basement. The homeowners approved of this plan and chose the color gray for the waterproof flooring that was installed in both spaces. Due to the large scope of the project, multiple HomeSpec teams were scheduled to do the installations and were led by the foremen Vernon, Jim, and Jon. When the work was complete, the homeowners were happy to know their home was protected and usable again.

This homeowner wanted to have their walls finished and the WaterGuard Drainage System installed in their basement so they could remodel it in peace without the worry of water damage to their belongings.
