Many people neglect their crawl spaces, especially the crawl space door. But it's much more important than you think, especially if your crawl space is already encapsulated - it's supposed to prevent water, humidity, and even critters from infiltrating. The door should fit perfectly, and provide an airtight seal. 

The door on this Palmyra crawl space was wooden and damaged by water. Bricks were placed in front just to hold the door shut.
