Nancy S. in Currie, MN contacted American Waterworks after being referred to us by a previous customer. She had been struggling with a wet basement and water-damage to her home. She wanted to find a permanent solution, so we sent one of our Design Specialists, Ryan Powell, who designed a unique solution for her home. 

Our Foreman, Cory Sather, and his crew installed 84 feet of our WaterGuard drainage system, 30 feet of feed line, and our SuperSump sump pump. Then, they replaced the concrete and cleaned up their work area. The drainage system now properly guides water to the sump pump and from there, the sump pump pushes the water through the discharge line and expels it from the home. Nancy is pleased with the results and glad her basement is now a dry, healthy space.

A homeowner in Minneota, MN, had noticed water seeping through the joints between the wall and floor of their basement. Knowing the issue would not fix itself, the homeowner began searching for basement waterproofing in the area and found us. After browsing our website and becoming impressed by our reviews, the homeowner contacted us to schedule their FREE estimate. 

In less than a week, our Sales Manager, Shane N., arrived at the home for the inspection. During the inspection, Shane examined the areas in the basement where water intrusions were present. A Tracy, MN, homeowner was chatting with his neighbor one day when he learned that his neighbor had his home tested and mitigated for dangerous radon gas. The homeowner knew very little about the dangers of radon gas, so he decided to find a radon specialist in Minnesota close to Tracy. When he found our website, he signed up for his FREE estimate.

Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Tony B, was headed out to the home. When Tony arrived, the first article of business was to place a continuous radon monitoring test in the lowest level of the home. This test records radon levels in the home over a 48-hour timeframe, delivering the average radon level after the test. Tony explained to the homeowner that the Environmental Protection Agency recommends taking action with any radon levels higher than 4 pCi/L (picocuries per liter of air). He went on to say that, should the levels return higher than normal, he would strongly urge the homeowner to consider a radon mitigation system, explaining that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. He finished by saying that when installed by an experienced professional, a mitigation system will lower the concentration of radon gas in the interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health and safety agencies. The homeowner was thrilled with Tony's recommendation but decided to wait until the test came back to make a decision. 48 hours later, Tony was back at the home to read the results, which came back well above 4 pCi/L. The homeowner and Tony worked together to find the best installation date. 

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Dakota M, led his team through a flawless radon mitigation system installation, successfully restoring the customer's peace of mind in the air circulating the home!
