A homeowner in Tomah, WI, recently read an article discussing the dangers of radon. After seeing what damage it could cause, the homeowner began looking into "radon gas experts near me". One of the first companies to catch their attention was us, American Waterworks. After seeing the information about our radon mitigation systems, the homeowner knew we were the ideal company for their project. Since they were already on our website, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate details were finalized, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, Will. A few days later, Will promptly arrived at the home and started by setting a radon test. While the radon test while completed, Will look for the best place to install the radon mitigation system. Once the test was completed, it confirmed that the levels were alarmingly high. To lower the risk, Will recommended installing one of our Radon Mitigation Systems. The homeowner agreed with Will's proposal, then he passed it to our Logistics team to build and schedule the project. Our Logistics team gave the final stamp of approval, then the plans were passed along to our Foreman, Dakota, to begin. A few weeks later, the installation date arrived, so Dakota and his crew traveled to the home to begin the installation. When they arrived, Dakota and his crew started by installing the Radon Mitigation System. The crew installed the system outside the home. After the system was secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was given peace of mind knowing their radon risk was lowered. Larry and Beth of Warrens, WI had an annual maintenance performed by our Service Technician, Darin. Darin noticed that water was seeping through Larry and Beth's foundation walls. Mark S. in New Lisbon, WI had a dirt crawlspace under his home. Moisture was the main concern and was leading to air quality concerns in the living space. The exposed soil was also a significant heat loss concern. He started looking into crawl space encapsulation and contacted American Waterworks for a FREE estimate. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Rick Weber, to evaluate the situation and propose a unique solution to fit Mark’s needs. 

Our Foreman, Jesus Covarrubias, and his production crew began the project by removing the debris from the crawl space. Then, drainage matting was placed on the dirt soil, and Terra Block insulation was place on top to create a thermal barrier. Next, the crew installed the rim joist insulation, Cleanspace vapor barrier on the floor, and Foamax wall insulation on the walls to create an airtight barrier between the soil below and the building materials. Mark is glad he chose a long-term solution to protect his home from the consequences that typically come with having a dirt crawl space.

A homeowner in Hutchinson, MN, noticed that his floors had begun sagging and was unsure of the reason. To fix this issue, Eric recommended SmartDrain, a plumbing leak system that drains water away to a dry well, CleanSpace,  a vapor wall barrier, Drainage Matting, an extremely durable matting that creates a drainage space and thermal break between CleanSpace and the ground, Foamax, an insulation foam that helps control humidity levels, and SmartJack, that raises the floor back to where it originally was. After reviewing the proposal, the homeowner happily agreed and scheduled the installation date. 

In about a month, our Foreman, Jesus C., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They installed 1 SmartDrain, 504 sqft of CleanSpace, 418 sqft of Drainage Matting, 210 sqft of Foamax, and 1 SmartJack. After they were done, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
