Foundation Cracks Fixed in Isle, MN
Michael O. of Isle, MN started seeing vertical cracks in his foundation, and he wanted to get them looked at by a professional before anything got worse. He called American Waterworks and had our Design Specialist, Chad, out to his home to inspect his foundation wall. Chad proposed our Wall Anchor System, which is made to stabilize your basement wall, providing it with the best opportunity to straighten back to its normal position. Michael felt good about the system, so he signed the proposal.
Our Foreman, Matt, and his production crew installed six of our wall anchors, which are connected by long, steel rods to a wall plate which gives the pressure that is needed to straighten the wall. Our anchors have a 25-year warranty and they can be installed year-round. The installation took a couple of days and Michael was happy with the work!

Sinking Deck Gets Stabilized in Chisago City, MN
Rhonda from Chisago City, MN, enlisted our services when she began to notice that her deck was beginning to sink and pull away from the rest of her home. She worried that if she left the issue unresolved that she would run the risk of the deck collapsing completely which could become costly to fix at that stage. When she called into the office we set her up with our FREE estimate, entitling her to a 3-hour inspection by a member of our Sales team. Once the appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Shane, headed out to the property for his walkthrough. Once completed, he was able to recommend some of our services that he felt would best fit Rhonda's situation. Shane wanted to address the failing wall by using our helical piers to stabilize the structure. He explained to Rhonda that these piers would be the best fit because they're specifically geared to work for a lighter structure such as decks or concrete stairs. To add extra strength, he wanted to use our ShotLock system, which is the encasing of our PowerBrace system behind a layer of rebar and steel mesh and 4-6' of concrete. Our PowerBrace system is made of galvanized steel I-beams that are used to strengthen and stabilize a wall and can be tightened over time as the home settles more. Rhonda agreed with the recommendations and work began shortly after. Our Production crew, led by our Foreman, Matt Z, ended up installing 6 of our helical piers and 15ft of ShotLock around the perimeter of the deck. These particular products cause minimal disturbance to the homeowner's lawn and landscaping. When the job was completed, Rhonda was pleased to know her deck was sturdy and would stay that way for a long time to come.

Damaged Foundation Stabilized in River Falls, WI
Jonathan P. in River Falls, WI had bowing walls in his basement. He was concerned about the pressure this was putting on his foundation, and he wanted to have his walls repaired before the problem got any worse. He started looking into foundation repair options and he came across the American Waterworks website. He contacted us for a FREE estimate, so we sent a Design Specialist to his home to inspect his foundation and provide him with a solution. We recommended installing PowerBraces along the shifting foundation to halt any further movement and start to move the foundation back into place. Jonathan felt that our plan was the most efficient, durable, and cost-effective option, so he chose to move forward with the installation.
Our production team started the installation by securing brackets into the floor as well as the rim joists. Then, they installed the PowerBraces into the brackets and tightened them as far as they could go. PowerBraces do not require outside excavation so it is less invasive than other foundation repair options. The installation took a day to complete, but now Jonathan’s foundation is permanently restored, and he no longer is concerned about the stability of his walls.
