A couple from Wayzata, MN called DBS with a water problem in their basement. They had lived in their home for 20+ years, and they had noticed the mildew scent and mold problem growing in their basement. The water damage had moved to their flooring and they needed to fix the damage as soon as possible. DBS sent our Design Specialist, Henrick Makitalo, to the home, their solution was our SaniDry dehumidifier and basement waterproofing system. After installation of our SaniDry, the mold problem was resolved and DBS could move forward to work on redoing the floor areas that had water damage.

This Plymouth, MN homeowner wanted to capitalize on the square footage in the basement. Their dream was to have another living room, a home gym, and office space. Having worked with DBS in the past to correct a bowing wall and install a waterproofing system, they wanted to finish their basement with the DBS water-resistant system.

DBS Design Specialist Jason Swanson visited the home for a free, no-obligation estimate and came up with a custom plan that would incorporate this homeowner's wishlist.  DBS Carpenter Donny Whiting lead the install on this basement finishing project. The team also installed EverLast™ wall panels - the insulated version lined the outside walls and uninsulated for the inner walls. These wall panels are hung via a metal framing system, making them incredibly durable and stronger than drywall.

They installed our ultra-durable, scratch-resistant MillCreek™ flooring throughout the basement. This mahogany color is UV-resistant and provides a thermal break from the cold basement floor.

This owner was happy with the work done and now has a healthy, safe, and comfortable basement to use for years to come. 

This family in South Minneapolis needed a solution to the flooring in their basement. They were looking for a durable, water and scratch resistant surface that would work for dance rehearsal for one of their children. He visited the home and provided a free inspection and estimate for the work. The homeowners wanted the carpet gone and wood floor over the entire space. 

Lead Carpenter Paul Villella and a team of our basement finishing crew began the project by removing the basement carpeting. Beneath the carpeting were some asbestos tiles. Safe removal of asbestos is a complicated process because disturbing the material is hazardous to workers and homeowners health. The other option is to leave the tiles undisturbed and safely cover them. The homeowners decided to go with this route and chose our MillCreek Flooring™.
