A customer reached out to DBS regarding their crawl space. Worried about the support of the space below, they were in need of some better stabilization. Our crew went in and installed the SmartJack® system to help strengthen the suport of crawl space, and make sure no further issues occur.

Foreman Osia Williams led the installation of this project with help from Co-Foreman Rowan Wentworth. Together, the team installed the earth anchor underground outside of the home. This anchor is connected to steel plates inside of the home using a steel rod. The system can be adjusted in order to reposition the wall back to stability.

This home in Mercer, WI was first built in 1907. After owning this property since the 1990's, they've always noticed significant inssues with temperature and humidity levels i nthe home. After recently seeing mice in the home's crawl space, they homeowner reached out to us about our Dr. Energy Saver® service for crawl space encapsulation. 

Design Specialist Henry Jungbauer visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate. DBS Foreman Orrin Sundberg and his prodution crew place a drainage layer and vapor barrier in the crawl space. This will prevent moisture as well as pests from entering the home via the crawl space.

Keeping your crawl space dry can also significantly reduce long-term damage to the wooden building material supporting the structure. From there, they applied closed-cell spray foam insulation to the rim joists where the crawl space was releasing cold air into the main level of the home. 

The owner was happy with the work done, and how it resulted in a great improvement of this home's overall health.
