Insulation and Waterproofing for Troublesome Blaine, MN Dirt Crawl Space

Homeowners in Blaine, MN had lived in their home for 2 years when they realized there were issues in the crawl space. Plumbing issues and poor drainage caused water to collect and musty, moldy conditions ensued. Looking for an expert opinion on the best action for their home, they called DBS!

Henry Jungbauer is a Design Specialist for the DBS Dr. Energy Saver service. As an expert in crawl spaces and attics, he was able to diagnose the home's issues. DBS Foreman Nick Woods II led the installation of our total crawl space encapsulation system. This consists of drainage matting, crawl space insulation, a vapor barrier, and a SmartDrain.

This system will mitigate moisture and protect the home from cold conditions in the winter.

Crawl Space Insulation in International Falls Prevents Freezing Pipes

This International Falls home was built in the early 2000s. Although the crawl space was fit with fiberglass batting, it wasn't enough to prevent the sump pump and pipes from freezing during the winter months.

DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo visited the home to provide a thorough inspection of the crawl space. He provided a free estimate for a new insulation plan including our closed-cell spray foam. The homeowners decided to move forward with the plan and our Dr. Energy Saver Team got to work!

Nick Woods II and his crew began by removing the existing fiberglass batting. From there, they applied closed cell spray foam to the vertical crawl space walls. Our foam insulation expands as it's applied, air sealing and insulating.

The homeowners were happy with the work done and now have an insulated crawl space to protect their home from cold winter temperatures.
