Waterproofing A Home With A Step Footing With FlowGuard - Sparrow Bush, NY

These homeowners just purchased this second home several months ago. After living in their new home for a short period they realized that they had a water and humidity issue. More specifically, water was coming in at the wall-floor joints and a couple of cracks on the floor as well. Because of the water intrusion, they decided to contact Basement Systems of New York to see how we could help their home. This project in itself was unique because of the fact that their home has a step footing versus a traditional footing.

To take care of the water issue at hand we dug around the perimeter of their basement, as well through the center of it to create our trench as well as laterals. Once done we installed our FlowGuard waterproofing system and tied it into our TripleSafe sump pump. Before applying concrete on top of our system, we applied both the drain mat and CleanSpace to the walls. Finally, before turning the basement back over to the homeowners, we installed our SaniDry XP dehumidification system to keep the areas free of any excess moisture or humidity.

Since installing our patented products their basement has been dry, as well the environment both downstairs and upstairs has completely changed for the better. They now have a fully functional home that they do not have to worry about every single night when they go to bed.

Laying A New Concrete Slab After Installing Our Patented Waterproofing Systems - Liberty, NY

These homeowners called Basement Systems of New York to evaluate their block foundation to see why they were continually taking on water in their basement even though they supposedly had a french drain installed.

Upon our Specialist finishing his inspection he noted that the reason why they were having issues with water penetrating their home was twofold. Specifically that they were experiencing hydrostatic pressure coming up through the floor of their basement, as well as the french drain that had been installed by a previous company was not installed properly and was not doing it job.

To take care of the issues at hand we started by removing the perimeter of their concrete slab to make way for our WaterGuard below slab waterproofing system with laterals with our SuperSump Plus sump pump system. After completing this we then moved on to installing four of our SmartJack support systems with new footings to properly support their sinking home. We then proceeded to apply drain mat to the floor and our CleanSpace vapor barrier to their walls before pouring our new slab. Finally to finish their basement off once our concrete fully dried we installed our Basementaire dehumidification system.

From start to finish these homeowners could not believe the quality of workmanship as well the level of professionalism they received throughout their project. Since installing our waterproofing system they have not experienced any water in their home, a reduction in health issues, but more importantly than anything to them peace of mind.

Waterproofing A Home On The Mountainside With FlowGuard and A Gravity Discharge - Livingston Manor, NY

These homeowners had a tremendous amount of water that would come into their basement every time it would rain due to hydrostatic pressure. Because of this, their basement was, constantly saturated with water. Because of the water that would enter their basement they had a constantly humid space. Because of the excessive humidity mold was allowed to form. Because of the stack effect their entire home was affected by what was going on in their basement. After dealing with this issue for many years they finally said enough is enough and decided to contact the professionals at Basement Systems of New York to see how we could help them with the issues that were plaguing their home.

Upon our Design Specialist completing his consultation he determined that the best course of action would be to install our patented FlowGuard system with laterals. The reason this was the best system for their home was due to the thickness of their concrete slab, as well as where their mechanicals was. Normally we can run our waterproofing system around the perimeter of the basement, but due to the mechanicals, we had to opt for laterals. The laterals we installed will work the same as if we had put in our typical continuous one-piece system to get all the water from the basement to our gravity basin.

Once our system was in place, we then connected everything and dug for our gravity basin. This basin would allow for any water that our system would catch to go out to daylight with the help of gravity. A gravity discharge was ideal for this project because of how their yard was pitched. As well a gravity discharge was important to the homeowners as they do not live there year-round. Essentially they would not be able to monitor the system. By installing a gravity discharge, they do not have to worry about losing power and their system not keeping their home dry.

Since installing our patented systems these homeowners have noticed an increase in their comfort levels throughout the entire home. As well they now have a dry and comfortable basement that they can finally again use as an area for storage and entertainment. They could not be more thrilled with how their project turned out, but more importantly than anything that they do not have to worry about cleaning up ever again after a storm.

Waterproofing A Home With A Concrete Block Foundation Before The Homeowners Finished Their Basement - Pine Island, NY

These homeowners contacted Basement Systems of New York to see how we could remedy the water problem that they have been dealing with for several years. Because of how wet 2021, they continued receiving water in their basement in the obvious spots that they always saw. They also saw their basement take on water on their back wall, something that they had never seen till now. Once this new water problem emerged, they said enough is enough and decided to take care of the issue at hand.

To take care of the water issue plaguing this basement, we started by creating a trench around the entire perimeter of their basement with two laterals along the front and back of the basement to mitigate hydrostatic pressure. Once everything was dug out we started to lay our perforated pipe and cover it with gravel through the entirety of our trench and laterals. This piping will eventually tie into our sump pump and direct any water caught by our system out of the home.

Next, we drilled our weep holes on the bottom of their block foundation. These weep holes allow us to redirect water that is entering their home to our waterproofing system. After drilling our weep holes throughout the perimeter of their foundation, we installed our DryTrak and FlowGuard waterproofing system before applying concrete to the trench we created and returning the basement to its former glory before we started their project.

Since completing this project, these homeowners have not seen any water in their basement, as well they were able to finish their basement. More importantly, than anything to the peace of mind had been restored to them. Give us a call at 1-402-833-3706

Restoring Peace Of Mind After Torrential Rainstorms With FlowGuard Interior Waterproofing System and Gravity Discharge Line - Slate Hill, NY

This homeowner approached us with a distressing issue – their home was susceptible to water ingress during heavy rainstorms. After enduring multiple torrential downpours, they grew tired of the constant hassle and sought a lasting solution.

Recognizing the urgency, they engaged a handyman for emergency measures to prevent mold and other problems in the affected area. Upon meticulous assessment by our specialists, it was evident that an interior waterproofing system was essential. The objective was not only to maintain a consistently dry home but also to restore the homeowner's peace of mind.

Considering the specific foundation layout, our team concluded that implementing our advanced FlowGuard system was the optimal course of action. Focusing on the unfinished part of the basement where the slab wasn't flush with the footing, our approach involved a strategic installation of the FlowGuard system. To ensure effective water drainage and alignment, we incorporated a drainage mat along the wall's perimeter. Seamlessly integrating our system, we extended its functionality by connecting it to a gravity discharge line positioned at the basement's front.

This ingenious arrangement effectively diverts water away from the house, providing an added layer of protection. A meticulous finishing touch involved encasing our system with concrete and smoothing the grade of the gravity discharge line, ensuring both functionality and aesthetics. While initially skeptical about the project's disruptions during implementation, the homeowner's skepticism was replaced with profound satisfaction.

Our Installation Specialists showcased their expertise by executing the installation with minimal intrusion. The outcome not only fulfilled the homeowner's expectations but exceeded them. The once daunting process resulted in a seamless integration that practically vanished from sight.

This transformation not only resolved the homeowner's concerns but also freed them from the burdensome routine of basement cleanup after each rainfall. The newfound peace of mind and the elimination of stress associated with water intrusion reinforced their confidence in our services. This success story exemplifies our commitment to delivering effective, efficient, and professional solutions that safeguard homes and restore comfort to homeowners.
