Most homeowners are not aware that their foundation is in need of repair until it is noticeable.  Foundation issues are very common, and most people assume that older homes only have issues, but according to Consumer Reports, roughly 15% of all new homes built had serious foundation problems! Some of the more common causes of foundation issues are due to poor construction, homes that were built on poorly compacted fill soils, expansive soils damaging the home, and deteriorating or inadequate supports. Comment Keystone provided a couple services for us in the last year. One basement wall was stabilized with carbon fiber straps, and our outdoor patio + sidewalks were lifted and leveled. There is still one small section of block wall in the basement that we are unsure of what to do with. There are stair cracks and efflorescence from past water drainage issue in part due to our sinking sidewalks (before Keystone lifted and leveled them.) As much as we'd like to re-paint this section of the wall and forget about it, we'd like to have the cracks assessed and ensure they are properly repaired before moving on.
