A client from Bedford, Quebec, contacted us about water infiltration in their crawl space during heavy rain. After a free, no-obligation inspection, our specialist Karim proposed a solution: complete encapsulation and a new sump pump system. Our production team installed the SuperSump® Premier Sump Pump System with a durable cast-iron pump, an alarm, and a child-safe, airtight lid. They also added the CleanSpace® Crawl Space Drainage Matting System to direct water to the sump pump and the CleanSpace® Crawl Space Vapor Barrier, a 20mil thick, 7-layer barrier that reduces moisture and humidity. With these installations, our client no longer worries about crawl space water issues.

When a homeowner in Farnham, QC, encountered persistent moisture issues in their crawl space, they reached out to us for assistance. As seen in the before photo, the dampness not only jeopardized the home's structure but also the health of its occupants. We promptly addressed this issue by installing CleanSpace, a proven solution for sealing and protecting crawl spaces from moisture. Facing a damp and humid crawl space in Saint-Norbert, the homeowner contacted us for assistance. It was clear that the crawl space needed perfect insulation and encapsulation to avoid any further structural damage.

We installed our CleanSpace drainage matting, followed by our CleanSpace vapor barrier in order to successfully encapsulate the crawl space and protect the house from further humidity issues. We also installed one SmartJack support beam as the rim joist above was showing signs of rot. Our SmartJack beams will prevent any sagging floor above. 

Earth crawl spaces that are ventilated form moist environments conducive to the growth of mold and bacteria. This affects airflow throughout your home and moves the spores in the void to the upper floors of your home.

This is why we have encapsulated and dehumidified the crawl space of this customer who is made of clay and ventilated by two windows on opposite walls. Our team installed the CleanSpace vapor barrier and a SuperSump sump pump and Sanidry CX dehumidifier and purifier.

Before our work started, our experts discovered several problems in this crawl space:

- A cold and wet crawl space

- Split wooden support beams

- Rusty support pillars

- Water infiltration

The danger was that the weight of the house split the wooden beams and the humidity in the crawl space caused the supporting pillars to rust. These factors threatened the support of the entire house.

In order to solve the foundation problem, our experts added 3 additional wooden beams to the existing ones in order to properly support and distribute the weight of the house. They dug in places in the crawl space to install a total of 10 SmartJack support pillars. They are made from galvanized steel and are used to stabilize and level beams and floor joists in the crawl space. Then, to remedy the water infiltration problem, the customer already had a working sump pump so our experts installed a stamped polyethylene drainage membrane that allows water to flow to the sump pump. . To finalize it, they laid our CleanSpace coating on top of the drainage membrane as an insulating layer. This coating has several functions, including preventing water from the floor from evaporating and creating humidity in the crawl space.

Our client will no longer have to worry about his crawl space or his foundation. His crawl space is now clean and dry and its foundation leveled and stabilized.
