The resident of this house in Quebec City suffered from a very high level of humidity, caused by a non-isolated Crawl Space.

Mrs. Malerie noticed also that the floor was sagging which caused her a deep concern.

As you can see in this picture, we have totally encapsulated the Crawl Space and the foundation.

Moisture, odors and mold had taken hold in the crawl space of this residence in Saint-Camille, compromising comfort and health. To remedy the situation, our team completely encapsulated the crawl space with our CleanSpace system, a highly resistant membrane sealed to the walls and pillars. By controlling humidity, this solution prevents mold growth and protects the structure of the house over the long term

In the before photo, you'll notice the challenge we faced: A damp crawl space in Cookshire-Eaton, QC, that made a homeowner reach out to us. Moisture not only threatened the home's structure but the air quality as well. Enter our solution – as seen in the after photo. We installed CleanSpace, an innovative barrier that locks out moisture, include a drainage matting, as well as a vapor barrier. Together, these products transformed the crawl space into a dry, healthier part of the home. In Sawyerville, Quebec, a homeowner faced the challenge of dealing with rotting joists caused by excessive moisture in the crawl space. Over time, he noticed that the humidity level in his house was very high, a foul odor was present in the rooms of the house and there were traces of mold in some area of the place.He contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec, because he was no longer comfortable in his house and wanted to fix the situation quickly.

Our experts went to the site to isolate the crawl space.

1. They first installed SilverGlo insulation panels on the crawl space walls.

2. Next they installed 3/4 inch TerraBlock insulation sheets. These sheets are installed on the ground and adjust according to the ground and will  insulate the crawl space. SilverGlo Panels and Terrablock Sheets combined together are the ideal option for achieving the best possible energy efficiency. You will keep the cold outside and the heat inside your crawl space!

3. To finalize the whole thing, they put our CleanSpace membrane to cover and protect the Terrablock and thus provide an isolated and dry environment.

With this solution, the customer was able to notice very quickly that the humidity in his house had decreased considerably and the unpleasant smell was gone. Not to mention that he now had a clean, dry crawl space!
