Before & After Photos

Having water intrusion in a basement is never something you want to see as a homeowner. However, the very nature of basements being below grade leads them to be more likely to have issues with water intrusion. Of course, not every basement has these issues and sometimes there may be water getting in without any obvious signs of water intrusion. Whatever the case, the basement (and crawlspace) of a home should be checked periodically for signs of water intrusion. The earlier it is caught, the less damage can be done. 

While there are some signs of water damage at the joint between the floor and wall, it could easily be overlooked. Fortunately, this homeowner was still able to see that something was off and took the initiative to have someone look at it. We had one of our System Design Specialists go out to the home to see how we could help out this homeowner with the water intrusion issues. Our Specialist was able to figure out what the issue was and where the water was coming from, from there he was able to draw up a quote for the homeowner and get the problem fixed!

The crew came out just a few weeks later to install the system to keep this basement dry. It consisted mainly of our WaterGuard drain system and a SuperSump pump system. Both of these products work great with each other and help to ensure that no water stays in the basement. To install the WaterGuard, a section of the concrete must be taken out and the WaterGuard is installed. Once the new concrete is put over it and dries, it looks pretty much the same as before, except there is now a small gap between the floor and wall to allow water to get to the drain. The other part of the system is the SuperSump which is where the water drains and is then pumped outside and in an area where it won't make it back to the home. 

This home in Belton, SC was experiencing water issues in their crawlspace. Because of the puddling of water in the crawlspace, mold had begun to form in areas. The mold caused weakening of the foundation which caused the floor joist to begin to sag.

To solve this problem our All-Dry team had to follow many steps, first the mold needed to be removed. Our All-Dry of the Carolinas Team used Mold-X, this product not only kills existing mold, but prevents further growth.

Once the mold issue was tackled, our team used a series of our waterproofing technology to save the home from the water effects in the crawlspace. To begin, CleanSpace liner was added to the crawlspace. CleanSpace is a 20 mil tick liner that is laid across the basement floor and wrapped around walls and piers. This liner works as a barrier to keep moister that is produced from the ground of the basement. In this specific case, the CleanSpace was just placed on the walls; this was to hold in moister that came from the water that dripped down the walls when entering the basement. Once the CleanSpace Wall was installed our All-Dry crew installed our SuperSump pump, which is a pump system that can flush up to 2,650 gallons of water per hour from the basement.

Once the waterproofing products were down, our team installed SmartJacks. The SmartJacks were placed under the floor joist of the home and then used to push the floors back into place. To install it, we excavate a two-foot cube at each SmartJack location. The hole is then filled with concrete or engineered to create a stable, loadbearing footing. The SmartJack sits on top of it with a custom-engineered base to prevent the support system from sinking when the moister starts to affect the soil. SmartJacks are then adjusted to the perfect position to support the floor joist of the home. This SmartJack technology, is made of steel which will not rust when exposed to moister and it can also hold over 60,000 pounds! This product was able to save this homes sagging floor problem.

With the combination of All-Dry’s different products, this crawlspace in Belton was thankfully saved.

This homeowner was having some problems with water coming through the basement walls, which was a big problem for the owner because they used their basement as a storage area. In order to help fix this basement, and bring it back to its former glory we sent a System Design Specialist to see what would be best for the homeowner. After the inspection, our Specialist knew exactly what this home needed, two products; a SuperSump Pump system and some WaterGuard basement drain.

The "before" picture shows a pretty average-looking basement wall, nothing too much out of the ordinary. Some smaller things that can be seen are the minerals left behind on the bottom of the wall and floors, this is more technically called, efflorescence. This just shows that water has been making its way through the basement walls/floors, because this is what is left behind when water seeps through.

The "after" photo tells a much different story than the before picture. The after picture shows what this area looked like after our installation crew had installed our products. The most obvious part of this photo is the SuperSump, which is directly in the middle of the picture. This sump pump system does an excellent job of pumping the water out of the basement and into the yard. The other product that may not be noticed is the WaterGuard drain, which was installed around the perimeter of the basement. This drain collects all of the water that comes through the walls and directs it towards the SuperSump.

This home in Landrum, SC was getting water into their basement. This was becoming a real inconvenience for the homeowners since the basement was used as a storage space. They had installed their own sump pump that was unable to help with keeping the basement dry. The homeowners realized that they needed to bring in professional help for interior waterproofing, so they called us at All-Dry of the Carolinas. We sent our design specialist David Listovitch to check out this homes basement and to give the homeowners the best options for keeping their space dry.  

                David recommended the best interior drainage system that is offered, WaterGuard, be installed around the edges of the basement. WaterGuard is installed into the basement by having a trench jackhammered around the perimeter of the basement. Weep holes are drilled into the base of the basement walls so that any water that builds up in the blocks will be drained out into the system. The WaterGuard is then placed into the trench; it has a special wall flange that extends up the wall by 3/8” to catch all water that comes down the wall. WaterGuard sits on top of the soil so that there isn’t any chance of clogging like other drainage systems. The WaterGuard is then attached to a SuperSump pump that flushes the water from the basement. Once the entire drainage system is in place, the gaps are filled in with gravel and it is covered with cement to make the system invisible.

This homeowner in Abbeville, SC had some of the most severe flooding that we have ever dealt with here at All-Dry of the Carolinas. This homeowner did not have any drainage, so when the water started pouring in, there was not much that they were able to do to keep it from flooding. Since they had to go through this tragic incident once, they knew that they needed this problem fixed as soon as possible, so it wouldn't happen a second time.

The "before" picture shows how much damage was done to this home's basement during the flooding. While this isn't the best picture, you can see a lot of mud that was pushed into the basement and was left there after the water dried up. The mud itself wasn't the biggest issue, but rather the water that pushed it there. Our main purpose for this project was not to give the water a place to drain, but rather keep the water from coming into the basement in the first place.

The "after" photo shows a much different story, this homeowner's basement is now protected! No more having to worry about their basement flooding or even leaking with this system! Between the WaterGuard that was installed, and the sump pump, this basement won't have any problems with water intrusion. The WaterGuard goes around the perimeter of the basement and collects any water seeping in through the walls. The sump pumps out all of the water that drains from the WaterGuard.
