Encapsulation of Rutherfordton, NC Crawl Space

When our All-Dry of the Carolinas crew made it out to Rutherfordton, NC they started their job by removing all trash and insulation that was littering the crawl space. The crawl space underwent a total encapsulation with CleanSpace, Drainage Matting, vent seals, an Aprilaire 1820, and a SuperSump Pump. A hole was dug in the crawl space so the SuperSump Pump could be placed into the ground even with the surface. Drainage matting was placed down before the CleanSpace, this is a dimpled matting system that collects water from the crawl space floor and directs it to the SuperSump Pump. This drainage matting is used when crawl spaces take in a lot of water and need extra help getting it from under the vapor barrier into the pump. From there, CleanSpace was installed which is a 20 mil thick liner that works as a barrier to keep ground moisture from the crawl space floor out of the air. The CleanSpace is then wrapped around the floor and piers of the crawlspace, tucking in tightly under the top of the SuperSump Pump. Once the crawl space is encapsulated an Aprilaire 1820 is added to the crawl space to remove excess moisture from the air into the SuperSump where it is then flushed from the area. Interior sealed vents were the last part of the crawl space encapsulation; they were placed over all vents to keep out air and pests.

The “before” pictures show a dirty crawlspace with unwrapped piers and floor. The “after” picture shows where CleanSpace has been wrapped around the floor and piers to prevent ground moisture from getting into the air.

CleanSpace Liner Installation in Otto, NC Mountain Home

This customer wanted to make sure his mountain home was protected while he was away. It can be stressful enough worrying about a home that you are living in now, much less one that is several hours away. This customer decided the work was worth it for the peace of mind, as well as the quality in products and excellent service that All-Dry of the Carolinas provides to each and every customer. The home was strictly a crawlspace/CleanSpace job. While we installed a few supplementary products such as a Santa Fe dehumidifier and a SuperSump sump pump, the main focus was that of the CleanSpace encapsulation system.

The "before" picture shows what the basement looked like before any of our products had been installed. You can hardly see it, but they actually do have a crawlspace liner already. However, this is not doing them any good. It is so thin and fragile that it can easily rip and tear just by crawling on it. The other thing about this liner is that it is not properly sealed. If you're looking for something to keep your jeans from getting dirty, that might be the product for you, but if you want real protection from moisture and mold, CleanSpace is the product you need.

The "after" picture shows the crawlspace after our crew had installed the CleanSpace Liner. As you can see, the CleanSpace is laid almost from floor to ceiling. While not all customers and jobs have the CleanSpace go all the way up the wall, this customer was encouraged and wanted to. The only part that is left uncovered is a few inches of wood, for courtesy to other professionals like; pest control and termite inspectors.

Crawlspace Encapsulation With Vapor Barrier in Rabun Gap, GA

This crawlspace was suffering from a case of water intrusion. Fortunately, this crawlspace did not have it very bad, only enough that further postponing of getting a vapor barrier installed would begin to cause more serious problems. So for that reason, they decided on having All-Dry of the Carolinas encapsulate their crawlspace. A decision that they will never regret.

The "before" picture shows the crawlspace before any work was done to it. While definitely not in bad condition, there are some signs of water intrusion. The most obvious sign is on the left wall, there are actually damp (the darker) areas on the wall, there are also mineral deposits on the wall, which shows that water has come in through the wall and evaporated.

The "after" photo shows the finished product. The transformation that this crawlspace has gone through is incredible. It almost doesn't look like the same area. The CleanSpace does not just stop at the floor however, it is laid all the way up the wall. This keeps the vents from bringing in "bad" air into the crawlspace and continuing to cause moisture and humidity problems.

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Clayton, GA

This home in Clayton, Georgia had a huge dirt crawlspace that needed to be encapsulated. The homeowner was having serious water intrusion and needed a permanent solution to his problem. The area that is shown in these two photos is the area around the water heater.

The "before" picture shows the area before our crew had installed the CleanSpace Liner over the dirt crawlspace. While there is no obvious water or water intrusion in this photo, the entire crawlspace needed to be taken care of. Being close to the water heater is an added burden, so our crew had to make sure they were extra careful in sealing this area.

The "after" picture gives a pretty good view of the installed CleanSpace around this area. The liner goes all the way up to small concrete slab in order to provide as much protection as possible and to keep as much moisture as possible from staying in the crawlspace. This is especially important for this crawlspace since there was no dehumidifier installed.

Sky Valley, GA home saved by CleanSpace, SmartSump, and Dehumidifier

When some envision their dream home, they might imagine it sitting on the side of a mountain. This is the case with this home in Sky Valley, Georgia. The downside of living in the mountains though is the issue of water running downhill and entering your basement or crawlspace.  This home had the problem of high moister and water puddling in their crawlspace. Along with the water problems, it was also a physical challenge to work around because the area was covered in rocks. In the far right corner of the crawlspace there was a bolder that caused an issue placing in a drainage system. The homeowner feared that even with our waterproofing technology that the bolder would cause water to drain in a direction away from the drain. Although these problems faced our All-Dry of the Carolinas’ team they were able to tackle the issue and create a water free area under the home.

Our solution for this issue was a series of our waterproofing technology. To begin to tackle the issue our team had to first clean the space of debris and rocks. Once that was finished, our team had to figure out a solution to installing a drainage system that would work around the bolder that was unable to be moved. After careful consideration our team decided to place the drainage system at the base of the wall and bolder. We did exploratory digging to find the edge of the bolder to make sure that water draining off it would go into our drainage system. From there, drainage matting was added and then covered with CleanSpace to keep moister from coming from the soil of the crawlspace. A SmartSump was also added to the area to flush excess water from the crawlspace. Finally, a dehumidifier was added to the crawlspace to take care of the remaining issue of high moister levels in the air.
