The crawl space door is more critical to your home's health than you might realize. Recently, a customer contacted Frontier about their rusty metal crawl space door and access well. While the door was an eyesore, its failure to provide an airtight seal was the real concern, as it directly affects humidity levels in the crawl space. Many homes come with wooden or metal doors, which are prone to rust and rot, allowing moisture and pests to invade.

To solve this issue, our team recommended and installed the EverLast crawl space door. Made from 1/2" thick solid plastic, this door will never rust, rot, or need repainting. It features sturdy knobs that ensure a tight seal while allowing easy access for maintenance and storage. The aesthetic improvement is striking!

We also replaced the old, rusty access well with a new EverLast model, installed with a bed of gravel to aid drainage and prevent flooding. Constructed from heavy-gauge, highly durable polyethylene, this access well is 48” wide and accommodates depths of 21”, 36 ⅜”, and 51 ¾”. Like the EverLast door, it is resistant to rust, rot, and corrosion and requires no painting.

In Pembroke, KY, a homeowner encountered crawl space issues due to moisture accumulation, sagging floors, and water pooling, noticeable in the before photo. We addressed these concerns through comprehensive solutions. Using SmartJack systems, we stabilized and lifted the floor joists to their original elevation. CleanSpace encapsulation and the drainage strategy implemented with an IceGuard further safeguarded against water damage.
