Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems came to the rescue for an elderly couple in Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire, when her cracked and bowing basement wall was deemed unsafe by a structural engineer.  Northern Basement Systems installed a PowerBrace System to ensure the wall was properly supported and safe for the owner. 

Previously, this Goshen, New Hampshire, crawl space was open to the earth, allowing moisture to accumulate and create a damp, unstable environment beneath the home. The homeowner had started to notice uneven floors above, along with ongoing humidity concerns that made the space unreliable. After installing a full encapsulation system with a durable vapor barrier and integrating a SmartJack support system, the crawl space was transformed into a dry, controlled, and structurally supported area. The floors above are now stable, and the home benefits from a healthier, more dependable foundation.

In Washington, New Hampshire, this crawl space had begun to show signs of structural sagging and persistent moisture issues, creating an unstable, damp environment beneath the home. The weakened supports were allowing the floors above to feel uneven, while exposed earth and humidity contributed to ongoing moisture concerns throughout the space.

After installing a SmartJack® support system to stabilize and lift the structure, along with a full CleanSpace® encapsulation system to seal off the crawl space from ground moisture, the area is now dry, secure, and properly supported. The floors above feel solid again, and the crawl space has been transformed into a controlled, usable part of the home.

To help weatherize a basement in Harrisville, New Hampshire, Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems applied closed-cell polyurethane spray foam insulation.  The spray foam, applied to the entire rim joist of the basement,  carries an excellent R-Value of 6-7 per inch and provides a great vapor barrier.
