When a family purchased their home in Burlington, Vermont, they knew immediate repairs to the foundation were a must before moving in.  The family hired Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems to safely and permanently support the failing walls of their basement. Working closely together with a structural engineer, a custom-designed foundational support system, with a Power Brace Foundation Wall Repair System, was designed. The systems set up along the perimeter of the home's basement to provide the permanent foundational support the house needed.

When looking to turn their nasty smelling, wet crawlspace into a dry, clean space with clean air, a homeowner in Pownal, Vermont, hired Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems.

This crawl space had inadequate structural support, contributing to sagging floors above, and was exposed to the elements, allowing moisture to enter. Our team installed SmartJack® crawl space support posts to permanently stabilize and properly support the structure, then completed a CleanSpace® crawl space encapsulation to isolate the area from ground moisture. The result is a stronger, more stable home with a cleaner, better-controlled crawl space.

Push Piers are made of steel and are driven very far into the ground until it hits stable soil or bedrock.  The push piers on this job were used in both the interior and exterior of the building to lift it back to the original position.  The team removed soil from around the exterior walls then used a heavy-duty steel bracket that is installed below and against the building foundation's footing.  Next, steel piers are driven hydraulically through the bracket into the stable soil.  The weight of the building is transferred through the piers to competent soil.  Then our team lifted the building back to a level state, backfilled the soil, and now the building is permanently stabilized.
