Before: A homeowner in Tomahawk, WI had a driveway that had become badly cracked, broken, and heavily sunken over the years. Several slabs had dropped enough that driving into the garage had become rough and uneven, and parts of the driveway were holding standing water after rain and snowmelt. Large cracks and shifting sections of concrete had also started separating farther apart each season, making the driveway look worn down and neglected.
Like many homes throughout Lincoln County and Northern Wisconsin, years of freeze-thaw weather and moisture working underneath the slabs had slowly caused the supporting soils to settle and wash out. The homeowner wanted to avoid the expense and disruption of completely replacing the driveway and started looking into concrete lifting and concrete leveling instead.

After: Sure-Dry used PolyLevel High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam to lift and stabilize the badly settled driveway slabs back closer to level. By injecting the foam beneath the concrete, the crew was able to fill the empty spaces underneath and carefully raise several heavily sunken areas without tearing out the existing driveway. Compared to traditional mudjacking methods, PolyLevel High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam is lightweight, cures quickly, and helps avoid adding extra stress to already shifting soils beneath the concrete.
After the lifting work was completed, the cracks and open joints were sealed using NexusPro Concrete Joint Sealant to help keep water from getting back underneath the slabs. By the end of the project, the driveway looked much straighter and cleaner, vehicle transitions were smoother, and the severe uneven areas that had become a safety and drainage issue were greatly improved.

Once the leveling was complete, all cracks and joints were cleaned and sealed with NexusPro® silicone sealant to block water intrusion and protect against seasonal expansion.

Now, the Lac du Flambeau home’s garage apron and walkway are smooth, safe, and watertight—enhancing both appearance and long-term durability.
