Before: A homeowner in Clintonville, WI had started dealing with cracking and settling around both the driveway and the back patio areas leading to the entrances of the home and garage. Several slabs had shifted over time, leaving uneven spots that made walking through the patio and entrance areas awkward and unsafe. Cracks throughout the concrete had also started opening up more each season, and water was collecting in the lower sections after rain and snowmelt.
Like many homes around Waupaca County, years of freeze-thaw weather and moisture working underneath the slabs had slowly caused the soil beneath the concrete to settle and wash out. The homeowner wanted to clean up the appearance of the property and fix the uneven concrete without going through the cost and mess of a full replacement.

After: Sure-Dry used PolyLevel High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam to lift and stabilize the settled driveway and back patio slabs around the entrances to the home and garage. By injecting the foam beneath the concrete, the crew was able to fill the empty spaces underneath and carefully raise the affected slabs back closer to level. Compared to traditional mudjacking methods, PolyLevel High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam is lightweight, cures quickly, and helps avoid putting additional stress on already shifting soils beneath the concrete.
After the lifting work was completed, the cracks and joints were sealed using NexusPro Concrete Joint Sealant to help keep water from getting back underneath the slabs. By the end of the project, the driveway and patio areas looked much cleaner, the entrances into the home and garage were safer to walk across, and the concrete had a far smoother and more level appearance overall.
