Ice Guard was installed on a sump pump discharge line to prevent water exiting the sump pump from freezing. Sump pump discharge lines are fed outside the home, meaning it's possible they could freeze during the cold winter months. A backed-up discharge line means your sump pump won't work properly in the event of water in your basement, which will make the flooding much worse. Our solution to this problem is the IceGuard® discharge line system.

The IceGuard® fits over the top of your discharge line to provide water with a secondary escape route. When the main line is working correctly, water simply flows out as usual. However, when the discharge line is frozen, the IceGuard® allows water to escape through slotted openings in the drain pipe. This ensures that any water your sump pump is removing from your basement is safely cleared away outside your home, preventing any backed-up or frozen lines. The IceGuard® is compatible with all our sump pump systems.

Before:
A homeowner in Winneconne saw water along the wall–floor (cove) joint after storms, plus elevated humidity and a musty odor that lingered in the living space. With an older pump, they also worried about reliability during power flickers.

After:
We installed WaterGuard® interior perimeter drainage to intercept seepage at the cove joint and route it to a TripleSafe® sump system (primary, secondary, and battery-backup pumps under a sealed lid with alarm). To stabilize moisture in the air, we added a SaniDry™ dehumidifier set to maintain ~45–50% RH with a dedicated drain.

Now the basement stays clean, dry, and comfortable year-round—with dependable pumping during outages and steady humidity for better air quality.

Now the crawl space is secure, dry, and insulated—improving comfort, air quality, and long-term protection for the home.
