The homeowner moved forward with having the project done and the Lowcountry team installed and adjusted PowerBrace Supplemental Beams for evenly distributing support along all of the joists in a section of the floor. Christine noticed that her floors were sagging and bouncy so she went outside to see if try and identify the problem. This home in Jesup, GA had a prior powderpost beetle infestation that left the floor of the home weak and sagging. There were large gaps growing in between the base of the wall and the floor from sagging. The wood was repaired with new treated wood and our team installed the SmartJack Support System to lift and stabilize the new floor into place. Our inspector recommended also considering a CleanSpace Encapsulation later on to control the moisture levels in the crawl space, preventing mold growth and deterring the interest of powderpost beetles.
