Moisture was entering a crawlspace in Carbondale, IL creating a damp and musty environment. To solve this issue, the CleanSpace Encapsulation System was installed. When Julie and Mike M were concerned when they started smelling mold as they turned on their air-conditioner, they knew they needed to do something about it.  So they called Woods Basement Systems.  System Design Specialist Brenton K was able to come up with a solution to the problem.

Foreman Joshua B installed CleanSpace in Julie and Mike’s crawlspace.  The CleanSpace system, shown above, is a heavy duty plastic liner that will line the floors and walls of your crawl space, making sure that it stays dry and mold free.  He also installed CleanSpace Drainage Matting, which will allow water to drain out if the crawlspace does flood.  This will make your crawlspace accessible, and keep the air in your home clean.

This crawl space in Anna, IL rests on a stone foundation.  Failed remnants of a thin vapor barrier could be seen before the project began.  With nothing isolating the home from the damp earth below, groundwater seepage and humidity turned the crawl space into a swamp.  Woods Basement Systems installed CleanSpace—a strong and durable vapor barrier—to seal off the dirt floor and encapsulate the crawl space, and we installed a SmartSump sump pump system to tackle the groundwater problem.
