Basement Moisture Control Solution in Lexington, Kentucky

This homeowner in Lexington, KY, took great pride in having the best festivity decorations in the whole neighborhood. They stored a lot of their decorations in their basement, including the witches seen in this before photo. However, you may notice that the homeowner had to keep their storage items a few inches from the floor of the basement due to flooding concerns. On top of the flooding, the humidity levels were high in the basement due to moisture transference through the walls. When we waterproofed the basement with our subfloor drains, our sump pump, and our dehumidifier, we also made sure to wrap the leaky walls with our CleanSpace system. This bright, fresh, and durable vapor barrier will make sure that this basement stays dry and clean. Now that the basement is safe from moisture, the homeowners can feel safe storing their seasonal items in the basement.

Crawl Space Repair and Encapsulation in Lexington, Kentucky

This crawl space was exposed to what we like to call "the open earth."  When your crawl space is exposed to dirt, it allows for moisture to rise up through the soil, and attaches to the wood, concrete walls, and anything else that you may have in your crawl space. Unfortunately, the moisture in this crawl space grew to mold on their wooden sil plate. To start this renovation, we replaced their sil plate. We then placed our CleanSpace liner all across the walls and floor of this crawl space, sealing it from the earth. The Clean Space liner, similar to a pool liner, is heavy duty and effective at blocking out moisture, bugs, cold air, dirt, and anything else unwanted in your crawl space. We finished by installing a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier and a Condensation pump. The SaniDry Sedona is one of our most coveted products, able to take moisture from the air and collect it in large quantities at a proficient rate. The condensation pump hooks up to the SaniDry Sedona and pumps out all the water it collects.

Crawl Space Moisture Removal in Paint Lick, Kentucky

This drenched crawl space looked like a rainforest before we came and encapsulated it. We first waterproofed the crawl space, then we installed a vapor barrier, then we sealed the crawl space vents, then we set up a dehumidification system. These four steps will ensure a dry crawl space for a long time.

Crawl Space Repair Company in Richmond, Kentucky

This before and after shows why the conventional vented crawl space theory is not practical. You see, a lot of home builders figure installing some vents in the walls, placing a thin plastic "barrier" over a gravel floor, and insulating with fiberglass in the floor joists are enough for a crawl space. After all, they are following a coded standard, and maybe that's where the problem lies. Either way, vented crawl spaces let moisture run rampant, and only really work in climates that are dry 24/7. By encapsulating the crawl space, as seen here, moisture is eliminated. This means healthy breathing air, and a healthy long-lasting crawl space. Also note the silver insulation panels we installed along the wall, which eliminates the need for nasty fiberglass in the ceiling.
