We also installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, which is built for keeping large spaces completely dry. We also added some rim joist insulation and some vent covers. Moisture won't be a problem any longer for this crawl space.
Crawl Space Repair in Frenchburg, Kentucky
This home in Frenchburg, KY, was experiencing saggy floors above the crawl space. This was because the framing in their crawl space had started to rot from moisture damage. The concrete columns in the crawl space had settled as well, further causing the framing to warp. We replaced the main beam and sistered a large majority of the floor joists in the crawl space with new wood to ensure structural integrity. We then stabilized the main beam with our SmartJack crawl space posts to jack the framing back up to where it was before the sagging started. This process helped straightened out the floors above. This project displays what can happen to the framing in a crawl space if moisture is not contained.
