SmartJacks Help Support Sagging Floors in South Bend, IN Home

Dawn was on the lookout for a permanent resolution to the sinking floors in her home. She was worried about the safety and support of her home being compromised. She found Ayers and decided to make the call. We sent a crew to her home and our System Design Specialists recommended SmartJacks so she went forward with the installation.

SmartJacks are perfect for this issue as they are supplemental support systems meant for crawl spaces that will support sagging beams and floor joists. This will provide the permanent solution Dawn was looking for to tackle this serious issue. It is installed by attaching steel support beams to the floor joists and a sturdy base at the floor. Oftentimes typical support beams in your home are undersized or made from wood which can rot, shift, and settle and as a result they will sag or cause other structural problems.

Dawn was overjoyed with the result and she now doesn't have to stress about the safety of her home!

SmartJacks Raise Slanted Floor in South Bend, IN, Home

Loren had a slanted living room floor, so she tried a store-bought floor jack and exhausted her options in the "DIY" department. Her previous attempts to fix the issue didn't work, so she researched her options and called Ayers for help. Our specialists visited her home and recommended installing the SmartJacks supplemental support system. SmartJacks are a collection of floor jacks, zinc plated and hot-dipped in galvanized steel to provide durability. Each base is implanted two feet deep to reduce load-bearing stress and ensure longevity. Loren is happy with her level floor!

GeoLock System Anchors Down Coloma, MI Walls

Ever since the sidewalk outside of this Coloma, MI home was redone, cracks had started to show on the basement walls. The owners didn’t know what to make of the problem, but they wanted to make sure it wasn’t a threat to their foundation. When our system design specialist took a trip out to advise them, he saw the slight curve in the middle of the wall (seen in the before picture) and immediately recognized the problem as bowing walls. Walls start to bow when the pressure from expanding soil pushes the wall inward.

To stop the inward pressure before it causes the wall to completely collapse, the crew anchored the wall to outside soil with our GeoLock Wall Anchors. The anchors pull the wall back outward using steel rod tie backs, which then connect to wall plates on the interior side. The wall plates are behind the white hide-away-covers in the after photo. While not necessary for the repair, they’re a nice option for those who want to keep their walls protected and looking good at the same time.

Stabilizing Foundations with Push Piers in Coloma, MI

Ruth had a bowing wall that was leaning on her deck foundation. In addition to preventing her wall from bowing further, our team also installed Push Piers. Push Piers will stop any further settlement that this wall has already caused. In addition, overtime this system should bring the foundation back to its original level. We installed the push piers deep into the soil underneath the foundation for a quick installation and permanent solution.

Foundational Issues in Coloma, MI

The trim on David and Stacey’s wall was separating and their drywall was cracking due to settlement issues. So they called our team and we installed SmartJack, a system that prevents settlement in your home. The rooms above crawl spaces are vulnerable due to the moisture and soils in your crawl space. The SmartJack system is a permanent fix by using steel columns, threaded rods and a solid base to address any issues your crawl space may introduce to your house. Installing this system usually takes less than a day and it provides immediate stabilization.
